ARDRVParticipantHi there,
Am sure this will be easy to fix but I haven’t found any answers through google/forum.
I have my blog archive pages set to display as masonry style excerpts but at present they are just showing as a grey coloured block with the entry title beneath. I would like the masonry sections to display either the post image if it has one or if not just a short excerpt of text. How can I achieve this? Url is on next post.
Best Regards
Richard

Rue NelModeratorHello Richard,
Thanks for writing in! To be able to display an image, you must edit each of your post and insert a featured image. Right now you only have two posts and you haven’t inserted the featured images for each of your posts. To know more about this WordPress feature, please check the codex: https://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Thumbnails
Hope this helps.

ARDRVParticipantHi guys,
The info you provided worked great for the Archive pages but it then meant that I had featured images on the main blog page too which I did not want. I just want featured image to populate the masonry style blog excerpts on the archive pages. I was super pleased when I found this thread:
https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/display-featured-image-for-archive-not-for-main-blog-posts/
I was trying to do exactly the same thing. But when I put the CSS given by support in that thread into my site I found that although it hides the images, they appear to be still there as the text of the blog posts is pushed over to the side to accommodate the invisible image in the main body of the blog.
Is there a way I can have featured images on just the archive pages but without them appearing on or affecting the layout of the main blog?
Url’s in the next post.
Hope you can help.
Best Regards,
Richard

ARDRVParticipantIt’s ok, solved it.
The CSS from this thread fixed it up in the end:

This forum is a great resource. Thanks guys, sorry about the multiple posts.
