nillamaryParticipantI’ve upload my images for my Home page in Media Library as 1500px x 750px (as displayed in Ethos). However, when viewing the image’s details, 1125px x 750px displays. Any ideas?
Thank you

Prasant RaiModeratorHello There,
Thanks for writing in!
You should change the pixel resolution values of media files under Settings > Media.
Thanks.

nillamaryParticipantThanks Parant Rai. If I change this in Settings>Meda, won’t this change all my future files uploaded in WordPress?
I only need to have 1500×750 for my Home page images. (I will have a photo gallery on my site, which I don’t want to mess around with original images.)

nillamaryParticipantThanks Rue. Yes, that is the image. I exported the image out of Lightroom at the required 1500x750px.
Thanks for the link, but I’m not using Cornerstone, instead I’m using the WP Editor. So, what is the best size to upload my image to satisfy the X theme’s 1500 x 750px requirement?January 20, 2017 at 6:09 pm #1339078
Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for updating in! You may not be using Cornerstone to create the page but still it applies how background images works in a container or for your containers. As you said you are using Lightroom, please check out the dimension of your image before exporting it. Because as I have check it, the image that has been uploaded is just 1125 x 750 px. 1500×750 is good if you are displaying an image. If you are using it as a background image, you should make an allowance like 1600×800 because when you use an image as a background image, the image size will be set as cover to fully cover the container element that is using the image as a background.
Hope this make sense.

nillamaryParticipantThanks for explaining how Cornerstone works Rue.
I’ll check my image again but I’m sure I edited it to the 1500 x 750px in Lightroom. I’ll redo it at the new size you suggest.
Many thanks.

nillamaryParticipantHi Rue,
I’ve exported various sizes of the same image from Lightroom to my Media>Library as a test. Regardless of the image size, X theme still truncates my image i.e. the image is truncated top, bottom, and both sides. In addition, the image does not display to the full width of the nav bar.
How can the integrity of my image be retained by the X theme?
Thank you!

nillamaryParticipantHi Rad, excellent and thanks for all the information and your suggestions!
I’ll start again with the original image in Lightroom as it’s much larger than the ones I uploaded to my Media. I reduced the size, then as this didn’t work, I increased the size again s a test. I need to re-do as the quality isn’t great. I was also trying to keep the file size down to about 100kb. I did copy the URL from the direct image into my code.
Yes, I am trying to implement a fullwidth layout and didn’t realise I had to use Blank – No Container | Header, Footer template, thinking all throughout my website should be the same template. I’ve changed this over as you suggested, but still not getting the fullwidth image.
Many thanks again!

nillamaryParticipantHi again,
Just letting you know that changing the template did indeed work, thanks. Just needed to clear out my cache to see the changes.
The only thing I’m still not happy with is that although a full image is loaded via the image’s URL, the theme cuts my image. What is the best size image (although it states 1500 x 750px on the theme) to upload to my Media so that I get the full image and not chopped when loaded to the theme? I need the coffee cup in the image as later, I will add something to this.
Many thanks!
