    Hi,

I have a new-ish multisite and imported some essential grid items into a new network site. I had trouble with the import, and followed the instructions you offered when I did this import on the main site: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/essential-grid-not-importing-file/ (I changed the wp-prefix in the file to match the prefix used in the additional sql tables present since I added the new site: wpvw_2_ .)

It seemed like all was fine (the grid on the home page displays), until I got to needing to edit the skins. The screen that displays when I select Item Skin Editor does not show any items in the Item Layout view. See attached screenshot. And, I noticed that the class prefix is only “.eg–” and doesn’t specify the skin name.

I tried all of the actions listed in the essential grid troubleshooting tips: https://www.themepunch.com/faq/essential-grid-2-1-troubleshooting-tips/, cleared the ess-grid cache, updated X, and deactivated the plugins. The issue is still there. I wonder if it’s related to the import issue.

    Specs:
    URL: http://princeton.learningcooperatives.org/
    WP: 4.5.3
    X: 4.6.1
    cornerstone: 1.3.0
    Essential grid: 2.1.0.1

Thanks for your help with this.
    Alison

    Hello Alison,

Thank you for the credentials. I am getting the following error when I checked:
grid-editor.js?ver=2.1.0.1:2373 Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'length' of null
You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time. If this doesn’t work, please try reinstalling the plugin. Do let us know how this goes.

    Hi,

The problem persists even with all third-party plugins deactivated. Do you mean I should try reinstalling Essential Grid? I’m not sure how to do this, as the plugin came with X. Please clarify.

    Thanks for the help.

    Hi Alison,

To re-install the plugin you should do the following:

1 – Go to WP Admin Dashboard > Plugins > deactivate and uninstall plugin.

2- Wp Admin Dashboard > Addons > Select Essential Grid > Install > Activate it.

Let us know how it goes

    Hi Joao,

I will have to uninstall the plugin for the whole network, there’s no option to do this just for the one site. With a reinstall will we lose all of the grids and settings that are in use on the other site? And I’m guessing that it will delete the sql tables that I fixed when I first had problems with essential grid: https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/essential-grid-not-importing-file/ . Please let me know your thoughts on what will happen when I reinstall, and any thoughts you have for other courses of action (if reinstalling will mean losing these settings).

    Thanks, Alison

I am having the same problem as the OP, and I was getting the same JS error. I disabled all plugins, and it resolved it. Renabled them and problem as gone. Wish I had something to add. The OP might want to disable all plugins and re-enable.

That worked! I deactivated all of the plugins, and then reactivated one by one, checking the skin editor after each. None interfered and now it’s working again!

Thanks so much for the suggestion!

    Happy to have this fixed,
    Alison
