    Hi there,

I have read lots of tutorials on how to create a “Recent Posts” or “Popular Posts” grid with Essential Grid.
It is supposed to be very easy, because I am supposed to get a ‘Essential Grid Shortcode Generator’ button in my posts/pages.
After that, I would only need to simply click on recent post to create my grid.

However, this button/option is not available on my blog? I have read lots of people asking in Theme X forum, and you have sent them link to the tutorials (link here) and everyone has given positive feedback that this has worked.

However, I don’t know why this is not the case for me? Why don’t I see the shortcode generator icon?
    Please see screenshot attached.

    Many thanks!

    Hi there,

    Thank you for your answer.

Finally the shortcode button is visible, so I have now added the recent posts.
However, when I create a grid for Recent Posts (to add to my sidebar) following problems occur:

    (1) It actually doesn’t take my recent posts? It only says “Your client logo” and if you click on it, it only opens the image (not post)?
    (2) I want the Recent Post grid in my sidebar (vertically), it is currently horizontally and not in my sidebar.

    Thank you so much.

    Hi,

Thank you for your reply, I have now managed to make a “popular post” grid.
However, a very weird issue arises? It adds my popular posts (such as “Cartagena Colombia, Florence Spain) but it also adds a non-existent post that I have never created called “Typewriter Taken Apart”? Please see screenshot attached. Apparently this is a post/image which comes with Essential Grid, but I do not know how to delete it or how to not include it in my grid? I only want to display my popular posts.

    Please see attached screenshot.

    Thank you very much.

    Now it happened again.

    It shows ‘Popular posts:’
    “What A Cozy Place”
    “Gibraltar”
    “A Workplace For Champions”

When the only blog post that is mine is Gibraltar. Why does “What a Cozy Place” and “A workplace for champions” appear?? Please see attached screenshot.

    Many thanks.

    Hi there,

Since it’s a quick grid, there is no setting for the post type. Hence, it’s picking even non-post entries. Have you tried creating an actual essential grid with post source and advance setting? You can use its shortcode for text widget too.

    Thanks!
