hjafferParticipantHi X
For ages, I was trying to get Essential Grid to pick up the first content image in a custom post type created with Pods plugin but I can never get it to work. So I create the grid, choose media source as first content image and move it to the top of the media source list but it doesn’t pick the first content image although it’s the only image in the post.
Any help is appreciated.

RadModeratorHi there,
Thanks for writing in.
The password you provided is incorrect and can’t check what’s behind that page.
Please check and let me know. Thanks!

hjafferParticipantThanks. It should work now.

hjafferParticipantThanks, but I think there’s a confusion. I mean the password should work now. This is still unresolved.

Rue NelModeratorHello Again,
Sorry for the confusion. Essential grid is not picking any image because there isn’t any content on the app post item (http://prntscr.com/atokzt). Most of the information being displayed is served using Post Meta. This is the reason why no images were being displayed.
I would recommend that you add a featured image and use it instead. I am not sure though if that feature is available in the plugin. This may sounds like you might be having an issue with a Pods plugin. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.
Thank you for your understanding.

hjafferParticipantThanks for your reply. I mentioned above that Essential Grid is not picking up the first content image as my selection in the grid media source, NOT the featured image, because I chose not to add a featured image. In fact if you create another grid with my normal WordPress posts and ticked the first content image checkbox it will not pick the first content image as I tried this and it always picked anything but first content image.
The custom post types created with Pods plugin has an image set as a custom field and if you scroll down the app posts you will see the image field. It’s essential grid that’s not picking tup hat image, although it’s the only image in the post, so I don’t think it’s anything to do with the Pods plugin at all.
Back to my essential grid issue. As I said above, there’s only 1 image in the post and yet essential grid is not picking it up although essential grid shows my app post type to choose from in the source tab.
Thank for your support.

JackKeymasterHi there,
Thanks for writing back!
I’ve checked this on my own site and I believe it is indeed a incompatibility with Pods. When I add a new WordPress post, add a media image (not featured image). And set the content to be shown as the first content image. Essential Grid displays it without a issue.
If I create a Pods based post and set the media image, Essential Grid doesn’t pick it up at all. Unfortunately it appears the only way to get it to work with Pods would be through the use of a featured image.
Thank you!

hjafferParticipantThanks Jack. Is there no way to tell Essential Grid, somewhere in the settings, which image field to pick. Who should I refer to to have this resolved?

JadeModeratorHi there,
It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script since this is an incompatibility between Pods and Essential Grid. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

hjafferParticipantThanks Jade, although I still think it’s something to do with Essential Grid, not the other plugin.
Found a workaround anyway. It works like this. Add the featured image to to your custom post type so it shows up as the featured image is selected in the grid media source, then hide it with CSS for that post type.
I wonder what effect this has on SEO.
Thanks

JadeModeratorHi there,
Glad to hear you found a workaround.
I have also forwarded this to the development team so that they can review the Essential Grid plugin but we can’t provide an ETA for it.
Thank you.
