I just want to use it as a gallery until there is somewhere for these images to link to.

Is it possible to disable all the animation/slideover/fade stuff and the text and just have images with no rollover please.

I saw that before I wrote in but it doesn’t tell me how to set a custom order. I want to be able to have them appear in a particular order but not sorted in any other way (date/title etc.)

Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by X or essential grid. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!
