NLeVasseurParticipantHi There,
I have been experiencing an issue with the Essential Grid plugin that’s pretty alarming. When I build a site, it’s in a staging area with a unique domain. I build the pages, buttons, links etc. etc., and when I go live and point to the user’s domain, WordPress, or maybe it’s GoDaddy where the site is hosted, swaps out the staging area domain name to the new domain with the user’s domain.
So, for example, 56.a.259.myftpuploadedcontent.com is changed to mygreatwebsite.com.
I just recently discovered that this DOES NOT HAPPEN with the Essential Grid Posts I have created. They still point to the staging area. YIKES!!! So now, I am having to go back and relink all the Essential Grid links. So far, it’s been over 60 when I visit all the sites where I used Essential Grid.
Is there a setting I am missing in Ess Grid? Moving forward, I am no longer creating Ess Grid Posts but am using pages. But I still don’t know for sure if they will be swapped out properly when I go live.
Any insight or help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

JackKeymasterHi there Nancy,
Thanks for your reply!
I’ve taken a look at this on my own local install and then pushing live and as the URLs are saved in the DB, they don’t dynamically update when you change the domain. You’ll need to use a script like this one https://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/ to run a search and replace on the database to update the links for the Essential Grid posts.
Thanks for your feedback on the interface! Glad you like it. 🙂 I’ll pass along your feedback about the labeling of the fields. 🙂
Thank you!
