Hi,
I can’t seem to figure out how to link to an external URL with my ess. grid posts. I would also like the links to open in a new window. Is this possible?
Thanks,
Chuck
March 3, 2016 at 2:27 am #821575Hello Chuck,
Thanks for writing in! Yes this is possible. You can link to an external url. Simply edit the skin of your grid. When you are in the grid skin editor, click on the icon layer and go to Link/SEO tag. Select the link to field to URL and insert the url below it.
To know more about the Skin Editor, please check it out here: http://essential.themepunch.com/documentation/#item_skin_editor
Or you can check out this video walkthrough
Hope this helps.

March 3, 2016 at 11:46 pm #823045Hi there,
Thanks for writing back. You can do it for each layer. Not sure what you meant by “it only takes me to one page.”. Do you want to open it in a new tab/window? In that case you can change the “Link Target” option.
Cheers!

I meant when I enter my URL in the link to URL box it takes it to the URL, but I’d like a differnt URL for each box on the grid. I am displaying a grid with 6 boxes, each to have their own URL link.
March 4, 2016 at 12:35 am #823089Hello There,
Since you want to have a different url in each of the grid boxes, what you need is to set up a custom meta keys. Please check out this video to find more about how you can set up this custom meta keys for your site.
Hope this helps.
