Hi,
My site is running into intermittent “error establishing a database” problems.
I ran a debug plugin and it indicated there’s a problem with Cornerstone. It says the error file is:
public_html/savethepostoffice/wp-content/plugins/cornerstone/includes/utility/plugin-base.php
I tried deleting and re-installing the plugin, but no luck.
I also tried emptying out the customizer CSS code and all the changes to the child theme I had made, but that didn’t fix it either.
My host provider says the issue is being caused by “your user hitting the MySQL Max_Connection limit. This means something in your code such as a plugin or theme is not closing the connection properly. A normal MySQL connection takes a few milliseconds and there can be 15 at one time, but if the connection is not closed the account will hit the limit and display the error. You will need to try disabling plugins and changing the theme to track down the cause of the error.”
The problem is also affecting other sites on the same account.
I can attached the debug error message in a private message if it helps.
Site: savethepostoffice.com
X Theme: 4.3.4
Wordpress 4.4.2Thanks for your help.
March 24, 2016 at 4:25 pm #851592More info on previous post. With Cornerstone disabled, I’m still getting an error message via the debug plugin:
public_html/savethepostoffice/wp-content/themes/x/framework/functions/global/helper.php
Thanks for your help.

Please note that we are not able to access your site. It comes up with an error regarding database connection.

Yes, it’s too slow. Would you mind upgrading your PHP version to 5.6 and greater? That’s WordPress requirement and your version is currently at 5.4.
Thanks!
