Hey Guys,
The support you guys have provided so far has been absolutely phenomenal. My problem is that I am having trouble embedding videos on my product pages. I can embed them in the description by using the embed code provided by youtube and changing the description to html and pasting it. The thing is, this doesn’t look pretty at all.
Before I installed the X Theme I used a basic free theme and I used a plugin that did the embedding for me and placed it nicely in a space between the ‘add to cart’ button and related products.
Here is an example of one of my product pages that I would like to add an individual video to:
http://makethemanawesome.com/product/horse-head-mask/So basically, when I use the same plugin (or different plugins with the same function) it’s like X overrides them and it doesn’t display anything at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I’ve been trying to implement facebook comment integretion onto the product pages. Similarly to the youtube imbedding, none of the plugins available have worked at all. They just don’t display anything. Is the X theme overriding them in some way?May 27, 2014 at 6:31 am #48787Hey Samuel,
X doesn’t override anything. Please try to use our Video Embed shortcode for that so it’ll look nice and responsive. You can give us access to your WordPress admin and we’ll try to check the problem. Please take note however, though we’d love to help you with your concern, plugin conflicts falls beyond the scope of our support.
Thanks.

I have tried using the video embed shortcode but for some reason that did nothing to my product page.
The way I did it:
– going to the individual product’s page and using the visual composer there to embed the video.
– nothing changes to the page when I do this. Even if I put text on the page here it does nothing. Is this because it’s a woocommerce product page? How can I still edit it? Do I need to import the template or something?
– Along with this – I want to add a tagline on my main page, under my main logo. I tried doing this as well with the visual composer but nothing showed up.
– Like I said, is this also because I’m using the woocommerce shop page as my home page?In the next post I’ll post my admin details so you can check it out. I just wanted to leave this one public to help others that may be struggling with a similar problem.

X doesn’t use the full content for the product pages. Rather it creates a custom layout, and uses the “short description” instead of the main content. Try adding a video embed shortcode there instead.
May 29, 2014 at 7:10 pm #50163Ok, I embedded my video in the short description but it looks terrible because the video is squashed to the side and into a small place.
Optimally, I would love it if I could embed the video below the ‘check it out’ button and above the ‘related products’.
Is there any reason why the facebook comments plugin and the video imbed plugin is not working? On my old theme from another developer, these worked fine and I did not have a problem using the plugins.
May 30, 2014 at 2:17 pm #50452Hi Samuel,
Your old theme probably had the template customization, this is done through woocommerce template.
You could only do these via customization.
1. Add new info box(editor) for embeds.
2. Display info using woocommerce hook and filter. And you may contact your developer for these. X does not override woocommerce features, so you could still use woocommerce standard practices for adding additional information and customization.
Thank you.
