    Hello,

Method 1 : I am using the Ethos stack and have placed a slider (from the Revolution Slider standalone plugin) below the masthead. The slider has only one slide. The dimensions (Layer Grid Size) of the slide is set to 1920px by 488px. For that slide’s Background, I have input the ID of the Youtube video which has been set to autoplay (set at my Youtube account settings for the video).

This slide plays fine. However, the player’s black background is shown while the video loads and then disappears when loaded. I don’t want that black background to be shown.

Method 2: In order to do that, I understand that embedding the Youtube video would allow me to change the color of the players background. I have been unable to use the embed method successfully. When I try, the video is NOT shown at 1920px x 488px. I have specified within the video embed code the width and height but that doesn’t seem to matter. xtheme seems to take over the width and height of the container I added through the Cornerstone’s Layout menu.

Could you tell me exactly how to add a container, place the embed code given the dimensions I specified above and the additional css code (and where to place the code), so that I can replicate the successful outcome of Method 1 above?

I don’t have a live site to which you could be provided access credentials.

    Cheers,

    Quint

    Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! When adding a video background, you are required to add the video id. There is no feature that you can simply add an embed code. Please check out the documentation for further details. You can read it here: https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/main-background/#tab-1437536142751-4-8

For video tutorials, perhaps these could help:

Thanks for responding. From what I can tell, your response deals with Method 1 (background video) which works for the dimensions I specified; however, it does not allow me to change the background color of the YouTube player. Changing the color is what I am after. Thus, Method 1 will not work.

My question was in regard to Method 2. How would I embed this same YouTube video under the masthead holding to the same dimensions 1920px x 488px? Clearly Method 1 can resize the 1080p video. Are you saying that xtheme will not allow a container using the Cornerstone Layout facility to hold an embed provided through YouTube or Vimeo, etc?

    Hello There,

Thanks for the updates! Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.

    Thank you.

    Hello Rue,

As requested, screenshots are attached. Objective: Configure the output from Method 2 to look like Method 1, aka, 1920px x 488px. Why? Because using the embed code, the YouTube player’s background color can be changed.

    Cheers!

    Hi There,

You can use the section video back-ground instead of the Revolution Slider if you feel like, this way your page will be much lighter.

To do that you have to click on section and the video background element. On the link you will use the sharing link, which is the same that is inside of your Embed code. You can that add elements on top according to your wishes. Please check Imgs attached. You ill be able to ajust the size of the height on your padding, I recommend you using % not px for your padding dimensions so it will respond better on mobile.

This method you wont have any youtube player before the video starts. The background color will be the background color set to your website which you choosed on Appearence / Customizer / Layout and Design.

    Second suggestion

If you want to use the embbed code follow this steps:

    1-Add section

2-Click on the magnifying lenses of the row(see image 3) and turn off Column Container.

3-Add the element Embeeded video. Define your frame width on your iframe and turn the button NO CONTAINER ON.

    Hope that helps.
