I’m trying to use https://wordpress.org/plugins/disqus-notify-content-author/ but the authors don’t get an email. I’ve used it in the past (on non X-Theme sites) with the regular Disqus commenting system and that worked.

So I’m wondering if the reason authors aren’t receiving emails is because of the X-Theme “version” of Disqus (assuming something is different from the official version)?

As we have several authors with 100-1 000’s of posts it is impossible for them to keep track of any comments being made if they can’t be notified somehow.

Please advice on how to correct this.

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing in! It sounds like you might be having an issue with a third party plugin or script. Regretfully, we cannot provide support for third party plugins or scripts as our support policy in the sidebar states due to the fact that there is simply no way to account for all of the potential variables at play when using another developer’s plugin or script. Because of this, any questions you have regarding setup, integration, or troubleshooting any piece of functionality that is not native to X will need to be directed to the original developer.

    Thank you for your understanding.

OK. I understand that X can’t offer support for 3rd party plugins from other developers. My concern is that it is working when NOT using X-Themes Disqus plugin.

I might wrong here, but this definitely sound like an issue with X-Theme 🙂

Anyway, I just wanted to bring it the the X development teams attention. The Disqus notification is essential in our case, where we have several authors and they have to be able to be notified somehow when someone makes a comment (on their specific posts, not any post). Would love to see that integration to the X Disqus plugin.

    /thank you

    Hi there,

Thanks for writing back. Yes the extension is different than the disqus plugin. So if you face issue with the third party plugin with the extension then you can use the official disqus plugin.

    Cheers!

Can someone from Themeco explain what the difference is between the two? Since the ‘official’ Disqus plugin is already free, why does X Theme include another one? It seems to be missing many of the features of the official one. Is there some kind of styling/integration advantage of using the X Theme ‘extension’ version?
(I’m about to switch to Disqus comments, and I’ve been a bit confused about which to use and why.)

    Hello There,

Thanks for updating this thread! You can check all the full details about the X Theme Disqus Comments plugin here: https://community.theme.co/kb/extension-disqus-comments/

It depends on you whether which one you will use. The best and easiest for you to use should only be activated but not both.

Please let us know how it goes.
