dragnimParticipantHi Themeco!
I’ve recently started trying to integrate The Grid into a page to use as a news page. Iv’e been using your Disqus plugin for comments which worked fine. However when I use The Grid all the posts say ‘No Comments’ even though when you click them the comments are all still there.
I’m all up to date WP, plugins, themes wise.
Is there anyway to fix this. I really want to use the Grid but wont be able to with this issue.
Thanks in advance!!

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
I have checked your comments and I am only seeing two comments (http://prntscr.com/b331zj).
I also checked each of the post that has a comment and comments seems are not allowed as shown here: http://prntscr.com/b3324e
Please be advised that WordPress/theGrid may not able to detect the comments which were created with Disqus plugin.
Hope this helps.

dragnimParticipantHi Rue,
Well thats the whole point. I need to use Disqus for comments. If The Grid can’t detect them then I cant use it.
What a shame 🙁

LelyModeratorHi There,
Unfortunately, Disqus and The Grid are two different plugins and those are not available be default. What you are trying to achieve is possible via custom development which is outside the scope of our support. You may wish to consult a web developer to achieve this. Thank you for understanding.

dragnimParticipantI understand they are two different plugins but some integration with commenting systems other than the default would be helpful. Especially as both Disqus and The Grind now come with X. I’ll try The Grid’s support.

Paul RModeratorOkay, Have a great day! 🙂

dragnimParticipantHi Rahul,
Their response was:
‘For setup and integration issues, please contact the theme author directly, He will handle support for 3rd party plugins included with the theme. By the way, If you want to update the plugin, you will have to wait for the theme author to include the latest version in their theme.’
So I’m not sure where that leaves me really. The Disqus plugin for X is a themeco plugin so perhaps you should look at making that work with The Grid in the future as you are now bundling the two with X.

JoaoModeratorHi There,
We certainly appreciate the feedback! This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.
At the moment the integration of these plugins is not a bundled featured offered by X as Lely mentioned it and could be possibly achieved by custom development which is outside the scope of our support.
If we could help you some other way or you have an alternative solution that you would like to discuss with us, please let us know.
Thanks for understanding,
Joao

cgWerksParticipant@dragnim – I wonder if your Disqus comments aren’t being sync’d with the WordPress comment system, and if they were, they might show up as you’d like. From what I understand, the official Disqus plugin for WordPress does sync the comments between the two systems. You might want to give their plugin a try instead of the X Theme one.
(note: I’m just saying this based on what I’ve been reading… I haven’t tried it yet. I’m about to make the switch and have been reading. I’m kind of confused as to what the point of the X Theme bundled Disqus ‘extension’ is, when it seems the one from Disqus is much more full-featured.)

Rue NelModeratorHello There,
Thanks for updating this thread! We already have added the sync feature for the Disqus comments plugin in our enhancements list. For the meantime, you could try the official plugin from disqus and see if it works just right for you.
Thank you.

dragnimParticipantThanks cgWerks. I’ll give that a try and update this thread with the results.
