shamrockozParticipantSupport,
With development licenses – just wondering if this was permissible …
1) Can I offload a development license onto a different url (sandbox site).
So let’s say I buy a license …
a) Production license will sit on http://www.abc.com
b) Development license will sit on http://www.xyz.com – is this ok? or must this sit within Prod license URL domain, like … http://www.dev.abc.com? I am a little unclear of whether http://www.dev.abc.com will interfere with http://www.abc.com (which might already exist).Appreciated,
Steve

John EzraMemberHi Steve,
Thanks for writing in! Just to clarify, are you talking about two separate licenses? If so it wouldn’t matter how you set it up. Each license is for one site and you can attach it to another site if you no longer wish to use it on an older site.
Having a license dedicated to a dev location on a sub-domain should not in normal cases have any effect on the top level domain license. What you put down as the URL here on your manage licenses page is what will be validated.
Now it is possible something could go wrong but that would be something that we would need to find in order to address. Most cases it should work fine.
Hope this helps – thanks!

shamrockozParticipantJohn,
Hi – I am actually talking about the new opportunity of having a development license (recently added) …
To be clear, I buy a license -:
1) Prod license = http://www.abc.com
2) Devel license = http://www.dev.abc.com or can I have http://www.xyz.comJust want to know exactly where I can locate the Devel license (which obviously would need it’s own WP install).
Cheers.

RadModeratorHi Shamrock,
I just tried that out and it works, and should be okay.
Thanks!
