Just set up a development site for a client with new licence of X. All went ok. But then decided to build locally on xamp/bitnami. I installed all ok and installed X and that went fine. It is saying that the licence has already been used on dev url. So I revoked the licence and created a new API key with localhost as the domain. If I enter new API in the localhost site it still says licence already used. Tried revoking again and clearing cache but no avail.
Any ideas how to fix ?

    Many thanks.

P.S I know I can upload all plugins separate but I also have an issue on dev she where the X-Addons won’t install so wanted to try and replicate on the localhost. Which is why I need to verify licence.

Installed latest version of X as just purchased another licence

    Hey there,

localhost is not allowed as domain name. You need to assign a domain name for your localhost (e.g. testsite.dev).

    Thanks.

Same issue… How exactly do I assign a domain name to the localhost? (really, all I want to do is code in peace, kind of annoyed that we now need to go through hoops now that there is no api key)

    Hi @justlevine

Thanks for updating. I don’t know which OS you are using so not sure what should I suggest. If you are on OS X, you can use MAMP Pro, AMPPS. AMPPS also available for Linux and Windows. So you can give it a try – http://www.ampps.com/downloads

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers!

I am using ampps. Dev environment is set up. But the domain is localhost, so I can’t validate.

    Hi,

Please use a different domain name.

    eg. test.dev

See Creating a domain name using ampps

Please also note that we’ve removed the api key in favor of just using the purchase code directly. For new site validations, you can use your purchase code directly. Sites previously validated with an API key, will remain validated, but moving forward API keys will no longer be used.

    Thanks
