    Ok, so I’ve read your article about using Child Themes for customization. Done. I’ve read your article about the different views, and ensuring any view elements you want to customise are moved over to the Child Theme. BUT nowhere does it say anything about how to customise or edit Woocommerce. So I found another member who posted a similar issue to me and linked to this page as his solution: http://docs.woothemes.com/document/template-structure/ – I’ve followed the video, but nowhere in my woocommerce folder (via FTP obiously) do I have a folder called ‘Themes’ so I can’t copy and paste them over into my child theme. So if Woocommerce themselves are saying I need the Themes folder to customise the elements, I am at a loss as to what to do.

    I am using WordPress V4.1.1, Woocommerce V2.3.7, Theme v3.2.3 and shortcode plug version 3.0.5 Website is http://diamondskylights.com.au/dev

    Site Admin & FTP details can be given in a secure enviroment. Considering X is being sold as completely 100% compatible with Woocommerce, I don’t understand why there isn’t more support on this topic within your knowledge base?

    Thanks, Lara

    Hey Lara,

    WooCommerce is not part of the X Framework. When a theme says it includes WooCommerce support, it means that some design and functionality is included to make Woocommerce’s design seamless to the theme and add some bonus features. It does not mean however, that customization is included even in documentation as it is quite complex. Moreover, WooCommerce customization is the same in all themes. The template files for it can be found in theme_folder/woocommerce. In the case of X, it is in x/woocommerce. The same is true when you use a child theme. You should create the Woocommerce folder like x-child/woocommerce. Woocommerce customization is beyond the scope of our support and documentation. You might want to contact our trusted partners who caters X setup and customization needs. Please see https://theme.co/x/member/custom-development/.

    Thank you for your understanding. 🙂

    Hi, I’m not asking you to tell me how to customise woocommerce specifically. I’m asking how I go about finding the template files for woocommerce, because in all of your documentation you say that all customizations are done via the /views/ folder for your stack, yet there is no woocommerce folder with any template files in there.

    So now you are saying that the woocommerce template files I would need to customise, are directly under the root x/woocommerce folder structure. So If I where to copy these into my child theme directly into the root folder of my xchildtheme/woocommerce for example, then this is how I will be able to start looking into customisation?

    If you would just look at my website here http://diamondskylights.com.au/dev/products/ , you would see that something is wrong. The woocommerce store & archive pages do not look like they should. So I am trying to figure out how to rectify this, not just customise it, although this will come later. This is something your support should help me with, as it does not look like it should given your demo. Thanks, Lara

    Hi Lara,

    Yes, you are correct. You need to copy the woocommerce folder into your child theme and do your customization from there.

    Upon checking, I can see that you are using visual composer 4.4.2 which is not compatible with the theme.

    Please delete it and install the version that goes with the theme.

    You can install it via addons > extensions or you can install it manually using ftp.
    You can get the plugin files from within your theme at x/framework/plugins

    Please make sure you have these versions

    X theme v 3.2.3
    Revslider Version 4.6.5
    Visual Composer Version 4.3.5
    X shortcodes Version 3.0.5

    Hope that helps.

    Hi,

    To prevent any compatibility issues in your site we really recommend that you install the VC version that goes with the theme.

    Visual Composer is created to be customized on a theme by theme basis. We have tailored it to work with our shortcodes only. As such, we do not support the “standard” version of Visual Composer, nor do we include certain updates and features due to our own use of the plugin within X.

    Please see – https://theme.co/x/member/kb/integrated-plugins-visual-composer/

    With regards to your shop, There is really nothing wrong with your shop it is just wasn’t configured the same as our demo.

    1. Your shop is configured to have one column while our demo uses 3 columns

    http://screencast.com/t/Shve2vbVz

    2. With regards to ‘filter by price’ you need to create a sidebar for your shop and and add the filter by price widget into it.

    Looking at your backend I can see you have created a products sidebar but have not selected shop page to have it displayed in your shop.

    Please check

    http://screencast.com/t/8DbivjjA1AN

    Then add filter widget to your sidebar

    http://screencast.com/t/uW7mppI5

    Hope that helps.

    OMG! I can’t believe I’ve been such a dumb arse! seriously! I had set up the shop originally to have 3 columns and so didnt even think about that being an issue. My client must have gone in and changed it by mistake and I hadn’t realised and then wondered why it all looked so different. You must think I’m a complete idiot! Which I am for this, I gotta admit. I am so sorry, I feel like an idiot.

    Being an idiot aside. I’ll get the VC downgraded, though its a shame because we’ll loose a number of really cool features their latest addition provides, it may also lead to a lot of my content needing to be redone. I really think your sales documentation should state that it isn’t the full version it comes with, because you do make a big deal of including this plugin and when people read about the plugin they will have (as I did) certain expectations as to what will be included. That aside, I’ll do what I need to do to ensure everything works ok.

    Ok, so final question. In regards to the filter by price on the side, bar, yeah I knew I didn’t have that added to the sidebar, that’s because I’d taken it out because it didn’t look the same as on your demo. I’ve put it back in, so I can explain better what I mean. Ok, so for this purpose I’ve added both the Filter by price and Top Rated Products widgets to the sidebar. In both of these, the icons by the side of the titles are missing. There doesn’t seem to be an option to choose whether to display the icons or not. So how do I get these to display as is your demo?

    Thanks, and sorry again for being so stupid about the layout.

    Hello There,

    No problem!

    The icons in the widget titles can be set also in the customizer. You can turn it on/off in Appearance > Customize > Typography > Headings > Widgets Icons. Please see the screenshot, http://prntscr.com/6m9qsh

    Please let us know if this has been helpful to you.

    Regards,
    X

    Perfect, thank you!!!

    I was looking for the settings in the widgets themselves. Maybe a suggestion for updates in the future? As some people may not want them on all widgets, in all places? Also an easy way to change the colour of the widget icons? I know we can do this via customizer with the right code. But just a small suggestion.

    Thanks again for your help, I’ll go back to eating my hat…..

    Hi,

    We certainly appreciate the feedback! This is something we can add to our list of feature requests. This way it can be taken into consideration for future development. All of these items are discussed with our team internally and prioritized based on the amount of interest a particular feature might receive.

    At the mean time you can change color of the icons by adding this under Custom > CSS in the Customizer.

    .x-sidebar.right .h-widget:before {
      color: Red;
    }

    Change red with the color that you like.

    Thanks

    Thanks, perfect.

    I am still however having some other issues.

    1) The storefront images aren’t relating to the woocommerce settings entered. See screenshot:
    http://screencast.com/t/2IFhlFeq

    I have my gallery thumbnails for example, set to 100 x 100, yet in this page:
    http://diamondskylights.com.au/dev/products/skylights/solatube-tubular-skylights-daylighting-range/

    the thumbnails are all different sizes, causing issues with allignment. Looking at the code, I see the first thumbnail is being showed at 102×90 and the next 102×107. As you can also see by the storefront all the archive images sizes are not being hardcropped to the same size either. Could you help me with this? I don’t understand why my settings are not being used within the styling?

    2) The Blog is not styled as per the Integrity demo.

    http://diamondskylights.com.au/dev/blog/

    Neither on the blog home or on single blog posts. I’ve tried to duplicate your settings in customizer, masonry grid, 3 columns, but there is a horrible black border & hover on the images, and info, not the nice soft grey border used elsewhere within the styling. I am also not seeing the tags below the posts, either on the blog front, or on individual posts. Do the featured images not get cropped? Do we need to ensure all our images are exactly the same size to keep the blog looking tidy? How can I ensure the styling is the same as your demo, with the inclusion of the tags below? Even the ‘leave your comments’ form is different to the one of your demo. I haven’t looked at the comments syling as we don;t have any, but I want that to be the same too, apart from the red v green colouring of course.

    3) With the mega menu, the themes widgets for the ‘recent posts’ are just using the titles, is there no way of having the featured images used too, just like with your ‘Top Products’ widget? Or do I need to choose a different post widget to display the images?

    4) Is there any way to import individual pages into the website from the demo content, rather than the whole thing? It would be really, really useful if we could do this, choosing which content we want to import, rather than bloating the whole site out with dummy content we then need to go back and delete 80% of.

    Also can you help me with why I keep getting 3 different prices showing. If my product is not on sale, I expect there to be just one price (the price I put in) so why do I have a woocommerce-price-suffix style which makes it look like I have 3 different prices on my variable products? I’ve ended up having to style it white, so people can’t see it (which is not a permanent solution) because I can’t figure out how to get rid of it. It doesn’t appear in your demo. You only have 2 prices showing when a product is on sale. Otherwise its just the one price. But I have 2 prices showing (on standard products) whether the product is on sale or not, when I have only entered 1 price into the product. Why is this different? I’ve not made any changes to anything out of the box from your theme and woocommerce, except in the customizer.

    .woocommerce-price-suffix {
    color:#ffffff;
    }

    Hi there,

    1. Add this code at your child theme’s functions.php

    add_filter('single_product_large_thumbnail_size', 'my_product_custom_image_size', 999 );
    function my_product_custom_image_size ( $size ) {
    return 'entry-cropped';
    }

    Then regenerate your thumbnails using Force Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.

    Or you can just directly edit woocommerce templates under /x/woocommerce/ or /x-child/woocommerce/

    2. The black border is created by black hover and your transparent image. Don’t use PNG with transparency. Post tags should be automatically appear if available, and right now, you don’t have any tags. Please add tags to your posts to test it.

    Images are set to full-width, which is probably greater than your original’s image size. Check this http://diamondskylights.com.au/dev/wp-content/uploads/2015/staff/Oct-2014-Diamond-Skylights-038.jpg It’s small to be cropped compared to common image size of 1200px for full-width. You can also customize post format templates at your child theme such as content.php, content-image.php, and etc. and replace all instances of this code :

    x_featured_image();

    with this

    x_featured_image('cropped');

    If you really wish to use exact styling from integrity, then you can install demo content that represent your selected demo.

    Comments section are just the same, your copy just uses different color. If you think that it’s really different, then you may provide screenshots showing exact differences. So we could asses what’s missing.

    3. Recent posts widgets is not from X theme, it’s wordpress default widget. If you wish to use recent posts width images, then simply use text widget and put X’s recent posts shortcode there.

    4. You can set up a dummy installation (local) where you can play demo content before applying to your main site.

    5. We only added templates for woocommerce, but displaying information about products are still in controll by woocommerce plugin. Your alternative works, but if you wish to extend it then you may consult woocommerce developers.

    Thanks!
