Hey guys, so I’m not an uber-techie, but I’m MUCH more comfortable with Cornerstone than I am with most of the page builders like Visual Composer or inside WordPress building elements like they have with Divi.

I have purchased Cornerstone and would like to use it as my defualt builder with EVERY blog I use even if I use a theme with preloaded demo content.

I guess my 2 questions are, is it possible to load the demo content and then use Cornerstone to handle all the editing? It always seems like once you install a theme and then launch Cornerstone, it basically makes you create everything from scratch using the Cornerstone Infrastructure only, so really no different than just using X Theme on everything.

How does Cornerstone allow you to utilize the design elements/structure of a particular theme you like but manage all your content and pages using Cornerstone? It just seems to me like it overrides everything and makes you start from scratch with whatever you want to create.

And like I said, I’m not an uber-techie, so being able to do some of the really cooler elements that people build in are not things I would know how to do with Cornerstone.

I guess what I’m looking for is the ability to manage the CONTENT using Cornerstone but keep the structure/elements/design of a particular theme.

Can you give me as non-technical of an answer as possible, in addition to the usually wonderful technical answer you guys give 🙂 I always appreciate them, but usually once I dig into your answers, it becomes greek for me and I get lost down a bunch of rabbit holes and frustrated.

Thanks so much for everything you do.

OH BTW… is there gonna be an X Theme update anytime soon? I just saw that there hasn’t been one in like 6 months. In particular with more awesome Full Demo Themes – I freaking LOVE THOSE!!!!!

    Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Cornerstone is a page builder. You can always use this page builder with any other themes. Just always remember that you always start from scratch because only pages created with Cornerstone can be edited with Cornerstone. So if a demo content was created using Visual Composer or default WP editor, these pages cannot be edited in Cornerstone. You should be doing the page from scratch. Only the demo contents from X can be edited in Cornerstone because all those demo contents were created using Cornerstone.

We have an on going testing. Once our developers are done with it, an release update will roll out anytime soon. Please bear with us. Thank you for your understanding.

So essentially you’re saying it makes no difference whatsoever what theme we use because creating it in Cornerstone doesn’t give us access to ANY of the theme’s elements, it’s just a blank page to start with? And only Cornerstone building elements to use.

    Hi There,

Cornerstone Stand Alone Plugin ( You have 1 purchased) should work with every theme that follow common wordpress practices.

But Cornerstone wont be able to use the demo of other themes, you can use the shortcodes of the other themes for example inside Cornerstone, but it wont be able to turn the demos that weren’t built with Cornerstone into a Cornerstone page.

Let us know if you have further questions,
