I’d absolutely love an undo/redo button as well! I am new to using Cornerstone and was super surprised there was not one there. I searched all over thinking I somehow missed it since it’s such a basic feature. It really is necessary and I hope you make that update soon. Thanks! Otherwise things are great so far.

Add my vote for Undo, and here’s an implementation suggestion for a workaround until the devs pull together a real Ctrl+Z function:

You already allow saving the whole page as a tiny .csl file, so why not implement at least an AutoSave that writes a file before every save, and maybe even more frequently (think AutoSave interval setting in Photoshop and countless other programs).

This is no Ctrl+Z replacement for sure, but it might Undo people from looking elsewhere instead of buying X or Cornerstone for their next project.

Thanks for considering this. It should be low-effort and certainly of VERY high value.

Building my first site with X now, needed to undo and wound up here. Can’t believe the functionality was never built. It’s a great template system, but this is a big omission.

ALL – In the meantime, you may want to use the Templates>Save function frequently. It’s a real PITA, but can save our As a lot of wasted time and frustration. Pages restore fine and all text, images and styles seem to populate; I just restored one to a new page as a development version.

I just wanted to add my vote for it too. Also, and I realize it’s not a great temporary solution, but I installed a page/post clone plugin and I have a clone of every page/post that I make just before I start editing. Just in case. It has saved my but twice now. Not the solution we are all looking for but something to consider while we wait. Best to all.

Cornerstone is excellent but we really need an Undo function. Is it on its way??

Or how about just the option to TURN OFF auto save? I get that undo is tough to code– but the UI is a little confusing. I thought I was just deleting “raw text” box but it deleted by entire… “column” or “row” or whatever it was that made me lose a big chunk of stuff. If I could have turned off auto-save I would have at least had it somewhere…

Or a picture of what I am deleting?

The nomenclature is sort of all of cornerstones making so a “text” confirmation of “delete this” is going to be associated with many user errors.
