Hi, I have just uploaded my Theme X site to a live server after constructing it offline with MAMP.
I used Duplicator to transfer the site and the online pages are all present but with some minor things needing editing.
When I try to use Cornerstone to edit the online pages, I can only see the header and footer template and none of the rest of the content.
I can provide the URL and login details if that would help?
Many thanks in advance.January 5, 2016 at 10:39 am #732802The URL to the site is http://www.oxwichsearch.com
I have found that it is just the home page and the ‘clients’ page that do not show ‘edit with cornerstone’ in the top bar.January 5, 2016 at 12:23 pm #732974Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! It seems your migration not going well. You can follow the Migration article and try another method.
If you have just few pages then you can import/save the page templates and export again on live site.
To do this :
1. Click on Templates on your Cornerstone editor – http://prntscr.com/8rlr3k
2. Click Save to save the page as template – http://prntscr.com/8rlreo
3. Click Upload and upload the downloaded template to the site you want to use the page.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!
January 6, 2016 at 6:33 am #734095Hi, thank you for your reply.
I have carefully followed the database migration instructions using the WP Migrate DB plugin but with the same end result – the same two pages, home and clients cannot be edited with cornerstone.
I have also tried saved both page templates from the local site as .csi files but when I go to upload them to the live site there is no upload dialogue showing in the templates section – in fact the whole section is blank (attached)
Very strangly, neither can I delete the pages from the WordPress dashboard to start afresh. I have checked and am logged in as an administrator.
Many thanks

Would you mind providing us with the .csi file that you have exported from your local so that we could test it as well?
Thank you.

I have tried to test import the .csi files you have provided and they seem to work fine on my local setup. Something might not right on your setup or it’s because the homepage was edited out of Cornerstone. Is there any chance that you could recreate the page and see if it displays the correctly in Cornerstone?
January 7, 2016 at 6:18 am #735717Hi, I can confirm that the site wsas construvted purely within Cornerstone, and works perfectly on my local setup too.
I think it must be something to do with the host server as I used 3 different migration tools with all the same results.
I did have a similar problem with the same hosts (Vidahost.com) when using concrete5 and couldn’t edit anything once the site was migrated.I’m rebuilding the home page now but the loss of the template functionality is going to create future problems.
Thanks
January 7, 2016 at 6:59 am #735781Hi Brett,
After reviewing the information provided above, I would try checking with your hosting provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems (i.e. underpowered, traceroute issues, packet loss, permissions errors, et cetera). Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.

January 7, 2016 at 7:03 am #735783One last thing – Is there a way to remove the white margins to a the header section when it reduces to mobile format?
