Hey folks!
So…I just finished another client site I migrated it off my server onto theirs. CORNERSTONE IS BROKEN AGAIN. I cannot access info, for example, on the home page in order to edit. See screen shot attached called badHomePage.jpg.I have ALREADY done the following, as instructed to do so in the past with other issues on other sites using Cornerstone:
- Turned all plugins off (except cornerstone which won’t turn off)…and testing to see if that fixes it. NOPE.
- All plugins and theme are up to date
- I installed and ran Artiss Transient Cleaner plugin. Didn’t help.
So, I’m out of ideas on how to fix this issue. Cornerstone. You’re killin’ me on a weekly basis. I’m going to have to stop using this theme for my clients, which is otherwise, awesome. Too many issues with cornerstone!!! 🙁
HELP, PLEASE! I have updates I need to make to this site. Thanks!

Thanks!

Thanks!
February 29, 2016 at 11:26 pm #817798Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! It seems you have moved your site. Would you please share how you have transferred the site to new directory? Make sure you are following our Migration guide to move your site ti avoid issue.
Cheers!
March 1, 2016 at 9:47 pm #819400The site was moved to the client’s server on Bluehost from MY server (also on Bluehost) via BackupBuddy plugin by iThemes. I have migrated the X Theme website for other clients in the same fashion many times, but never broke like this.
Any thoughts? Do you need login credentials? I’m going to create and post for you in a private message so you can go in and have a look.
We’re anxious to get this fixed ASAP.
Thanks!

Migrating cornerstone content is different and it needs to be done with third party plugin in order to let you edit existing CS pages, please check this link : https://community.theme.co/kb/cornerstone-migration/
Hope that helps.
March 2, 2016 at 2:39 am #819709Hey there. So, like I mentioned, I used BackupBuddy plugin for migrating. And the instruction page you posted for me SAYS that I can use BackupBuddy! See screen shot attached.
That being said…Cornerstone is still broken. The orignal site I built on my server is no longer on there. So this current site at GMSAV.com is the only one I have to work from at the moment…so I need this one to be FIXED.
Any other ideas? Did you log in to the site to pinpoint what the issue is by chance? I posted login info for you.
Please let me know. Gotta get this fixed! Thanks!
March 2, 2016 at 5:04 am #819886Hi Lauren,
Backupbuddy should work fine as long as the migration done properly. I’ve checked your site and I can still see your OLD site URL on some places (see: http://prntscr.com/aa78ot). Please note that, if URLs are not changed properly, it could break Cornerstone. That is why it’s important to search and replace old URLs with new as soon as the site is migrated.
Please check again and make sure you replace all URLs correctly. As you have already migrated, you can try Better Search Replace plugin to replace your old URLs with new one.
Thank you!
March 2, 2016 at 5:27 am #819912Unfortunately adding the Better Search Replace plugin and running it for http://devineportfolio.com/-> http://www.gmsav.com/ AND also running it for http://www.devineportfolio.com/ -> http://www.gmsav.com/ DIDN’T HELP. Out of the two runs, only 1 cell needed changing when I checked all 28 data tables. I went to check the HOME page after I did all this and, unfortunately, it had no effect on the fact that Cornerstone seems to be broken. See screen shot attached showing that from the inside the WordPress Dashboard, when attempting to edit the home page using Cornerstone, there’s nothing there…so its still broken.
Also, I’ve used BackupBuddy MANY MANY MANY times and almost never run into issues like this. ALL the issues for any sites I’m building at the moment, HONESTLY are always with the X Theme and this dang Cornerstone…CONSTANTLY. Even for sites that haven’t been moved yet. So, I’m sure there is something else going on.
Any other ideas? 🙁 I’m stressing out! Thanks for your help!
March 2, 2016 at 6:05 am #819973Hey Lauren,
I had the same problem. I got it fixed easily by using the “wp migrate db” plugin as described above.
I exported the working database via the plugin from my simulated server on my Computer and imported it to the server’s phpmy admin. Tadaaa, Cornerstone worked again.
What I can recommand you, is the manually find & replace your old domain for you new one.regards
March 2, 2016 at 6:13 am #819980Hello Groemmi!
Well, I did install the WP Migrate DB plugin and downloaded the database…but my main worry is that its a copy of the site that where Cornerstone is broken. I no longer have the copy of the site on my development server 🙁 Additionally, I migrated using BackupBuddy so there is already in instance of WordPress in the root. Even if I create a subfolder, I only ever use BackupBuddy, so I’m not sure how to migrate absolutely everything else over other than the WP Migrate DB stuff (page content, images, etc.)I have already done a find & replace via Best Search Replace plugin…that plugin only found ONE instance that needed updating…but it didn’t help the fact that my home page editing via Cornerstone is still seriously broken…along with the Gravity Forms that don’t show up in the editor anymore either.
Hopefully you’re able to read/see all the posts in this thread above this one where I explained all this for the most part…there is even a screen shot there you can see where my home page content is not showing up in the Cornerstone editor.
I’m just not sure what else can be done on my own, which is why I’m seeking Support assistance with it.
Any other ideas, Groemmi? Thanks!
March 2, 2016 at 6:15 am #819982Hi Lauren,
Can you try testing for a plugin conflict? I’m seeing that those URLs are being used in Lazyload plugin. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
If it doesn’t help, it’s best if you can use other migration plugin as we have covered a complete migration process in our Cornerstone Migration knowledge base article.
Thank you!
March 2, 2016 at 6:28 am #820004Ok, so I followed the instructions EXACTLY to upload the DB I downloaded using WP Migrate DB. See my two screen shots attached. I got an error message. All the settings are correct, as per the support guide. It didn’t work. ACK!
Now what?
March 2, 2016 at 6:38 am #820014And just FYI…I figured out how to import the DB file directly into the DB for this particular site (sorry, I’m not really a “back end” person)…
And now the site is totally broken…also, when I try to login to the back end, I can’t. I get a non-css login screen and the credentials don’t work anymore. UGH.Thankfully I created a dev.gmsav.com site (dev site for editing…the push to live)…so I’ll push the dev out to live in order to fix this…but you can see how badly it broke by viewing my screen shots.
Any thing, guys? 🙁 Anyone available to help hands on?
