Hello There,
Thanks for posting in. Please try suggestion above about setting it up for the debug mode and checking your memory limit. You can contact your hosting provider to check about the memory limit. If after doing that the issue still persists would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

I have my site on GoDaddy Microsoft hosting using Plesk desk. This domain is a sub domain, could their be an addressing issue with Cornerstone? This is day 2 into issues, please help.July 8, 2015 at 2:41 pm #324692This reply has been marked as private.July 8, 2015 at 2:59 pm #324715This reply has been marked as private.July 8, 2015 at 4:01 pm #324777Hi There,
You can check the thread in regards to your hosting about this issue. https://community.theme.co//forums/topic/cornerstone-500-internal-server-error/#post-288989. Moving from microsoft base site linux fix this. You could try to ask with you hosting with this error.
You could try to increase your memory allocation maybe it might help.

July 13, 2015 at 2:49 pm #328968Hi there,
If you are encountering a 403, 500, or 503 error, we have found that this is typically due to security settings or permissions errors with the server. For this particular situation, you will need to contact your hosting provider and ask them to ensure that your file permissions are set correctly. Additionally, this could be related to a ModSecurity rule being triggered due to a combination of keywords used in the core WordPress files for the Customizer. This should be able to be remedied by writing into the support team at your host and asking them to whitelist the ModSecurity rules on your domain.
Let us know how this goes!

August 13, 2015 at 4:25 pm #358608Hi There,
Please contact your hosting provider and let them know about this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems (i.e. underpowered, traceroute issues, packet loss, permissions errors, et cetera). Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.
Thanks!
September 21, 2015 at 9:16 am #397557Hi I just tried to resolve the issue with GoDaddy, but apparently I am on a shared server and they will not edit or change Mod security in a shared environment. They suggest to use another plug ….. this sucks
any alternative solution?
September 21, 2015 at 8:01 pm #398143Hey there,
500 Internal Server Error is caused by wrong file and folder permission. That can be changed in any web host. See http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/ for proper WordPress file permissions. You can contact your host regarding that.
Alternatively, you can try Vicky’s solution https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/cornerstone-500-internal-server-error/page/2/#post-330918
Thanks.
