    Hi,

I’ve updated my site to using both the new version of Theme X and installed Cornerstone. When I now look at my pages and go to edit in Cornerstone, nothing shows up in the inspector area to modify. How do I convert the existing pages over, so that I can edit them in Cornerstone.

    My site url is http://www.ortom8.com

    Thanks, Mike

    Hello There,

    Thanks for posting in!

There is no page conversion from VC to Cornerstone. Both of them are independent page builder. You have to create a new page and build the page in Cornerstone to look like your old page (built with VC). All your old pages built with VC will just work fine. You can have both Cornerstone and VC in your installation. You will still be able to install and use VC within X using either our customized version optimized for X or the plain vanilla version – the option to pick being as usual in the X Integration Tab of VC. We will keep it updated and patched (no 6 month period, indefinitely) just keep in mind elements that we have added to Cornerstone will not be able to be added as those elements were made for Cornerstone specifically.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi,

Ok, Does this apply if you delete the plugin for X Shortcodes as advised in the update and installation instructions for using cornerstone?

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi There,

Not really sure what is your question. Would you mind elaborating it a little bit.

With cornerstone or version 4+ needs cornerstong and you needed to deactivate or remove the X shortcodes. Shortcodes is included in the cornerstone plugin.

    Thank you so much.

    Hi,

Ok I was just trying to understand why some of my short codes that were on my home page that worked ok, before changing to cornerstone, now don’t work quite right. I had icons that I’ve now had to delete as the short codes for the icons etc were not working.

Also when I started to recreate my home page I could not find a function for creating a full width banner, as I have on the site at the moment using the Revolution Slider. And when I inserted the shortcode in the Cornerstone version of my home page I started to create, it did not work.

Which is why I was asking of the ShortCodes will still work.

Are you able to assist with how I can insert the shortcode for the banner I have, so that it will work in the Cornerstone version of my home page?

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi there,

Upon checking your site, I can see you are using old version of X, please update theme and VC, remove X shortcodes and install Cornerstone.

In this releadse X shortcodes replaced by Cornerstone plugin, means that it works the same way as X shortcodes used to do.

In regards with icons please check changelog : https://theme.co/changelog/

You can set slider inside content band, just put its shortcode in text element.
    e.g.
    [rev_slider slider]

    Hope it helps.

    Hi,

Thanks for the response. However my site is using version 4.0.1. It was just updated only two days ago. Can you please elaborate why you mentioned I’m running an old version of X, as I do not believe that to be the case. I have installed and show Cornerstone as be being installed and I’m not seeing X Shortcodes installed, as I had deleted it previously

Can you please explain to make sure you are indeed looking at the correct website.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi Mike,

By inspecting your site source code, I can see you are using X theme V3.2.4 and X shortcodes V3.0.4

Please clear your browser cache and plugin cache(wp fastest cache).

    Thanks

    Hi,

I have cleared the Cache using and checked the source and it appears to be be now using the latest version of X.

I still find that when inserting the shortcode for the revolution slider into a code snippet on the page Home Page – New built using Cornerstone that when viewing the page it just displays the shortcode itself and not the slider.

Also, when I am on my current home page, and scroll to the bottom of the page and then back up again, the wording and button on the home page slider has disappeared.

    What is causing these issues.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in!

You can add your Revolution Slider shortcode in a Text element (see http://prntscr.com/7bd3qb). Make sure to add it into the Text mode of the editor.

    Hi there,

I created a new page called ‘X support’ and added a slider in there and worked as expected, please check the page and let us know how we can replicate the issue.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

If you preview your page that you setup and scroll down to the bottom and back up a few times the text and the button on the banner disappear, as I was mentioning.

It looks like you’ve been able recreate the issue yourselves.

Any ideas on how this (the disappearing text and content issue) can be fixed.

    Thanks, Mike

    Hi Mike,

This issue looks specific to Revolution Slider fade animations, on scrolling the text opacity changes automatically (see: http://prntscr.com/7ftvfc). Upon checking, you are using older version of Revolution Slider and there’s an update available (see: http://prntscr.com/7ftufq). Please update it under Dashboard > Updates.

    Thanks!

Hi, I had updated the plugin, and the issue had been occurring before the update was released. It seems to only have started to happen once we’ve changed over to the Theme X.

    Thanks, Mike
