EricParticipantHey I’m having an issue with my contact forms. I’ve reviewed all of the tutorials and threads discussing how to set them up, and from what I can tell all of my settings should be good, however whenever someone tries to send a message, this error code pops up (see screenshot 1).
Any idea as to why this happens, and how I could fix it?
Thanks in advance.

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
I see following error in your site’s console :
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 403 (Forbidden)After reviewing the information provided above, I would try checking with your hosting provider on this particular issue as it sounds like something related to your setup is causing this. Typically, this is due server configuration problems (i.e. underpowered, traceroute issues, packet loss, permissions errors, et cetera). Additionally, your host will be able to diagnose things much better due to the fact that they have a more complete view of your account and can work behind the scenes with you. If the problem you are experiencing persists after working with your host, don’t hesitate to let us know and we will be happy to assist you. Any relevant information that you can share with us from your host is also greatly appreciated as it will help us to better ascertain the source of the problem.
Hope it helps.

EricParticipantHey thanks for the reply.
I spoke to the hosting provider and they couldn’t see the error anywhere. According to them everything was working fine. They said that it’s possible that the issue has been resolved and that it’s working fine now, but they asked if you could take a look, and if the error is still showing up, please explain how to get this error on their end so that they can check it further.
If the error is fine, any help with the contact forms would also be appreciated since I still can’t get it to work.
Thanks!

ChristianModeratorX includes a bit of custom style only for Contact Form 7 and does not have any code regarding functionality. For function issues, please contact Contact Form 7 support.
Thanks.

EricParticipantWell I’m not looking for codes to improve the functionality, I’m just trying to figure out why the form wouldn’t work.
I checked their forum as well and I confirmed that my settings appear to be fine, so I just wanted to see if there’s something else that could be preventing it from working. Any ideas?
Also is the error still appearing in my site’s console?
Thanks

DarshanaModeratorHi there,
This error arises because the web server, Apache or IIS, has not been configured to send out mail. So you need an alternative way to send out mail (SMTP) from WordPress. here is an alternative plugin called WP Mail SMTP (http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/)
You’ll need to download and active this plugin, then set it up with the relevant email address, that you use along with the outgoing mail server name, username and password.
Let us know if this solves your problem.
Thanks!February 28, 2017 at 10:09 pm #1389690
EricParticipantYeah that worked perfectly!
Thanks a lot. You’re a life saver.
