getting the error message “connection is lost” all the time. Can you help me figure out if this is due to a specific plugin update or something else?

We’re sorry you’re having this issue. Could you provide us a little more information on your hosting environment and your settings? For example, is it a shared host, VPN, et cetera? Does your host have any restrictions on your account? It’d be great if you could consult your host as well and ask them about the error log. Those information would help us determine the root cause of the issue.
Always,
XFebruary 1, 2016 at 12:35 pm #774740The domain is hosted with Godaddy and I’ll call them today to get more of the info you asked about. It’s not shared or a Virtual Private Network. What restrictions are you referring to?
February 1, 2016 at 5:58 pm #775099Hi there,
This is usually a result of a temporary loss of network connectivity, or that your server’s PHP configuration is unsuited to fully operate WordPress.
Please see this page for more information: https://community.theme.co//kb/connection-issues/
Because of the likelihood that this is a PHP configuration problem, you may need to contact your host. In that article we’ve included a form letter you can use so they know what to look for.
February 2, 2016 at 1:25 pm #776565Your link shows a different error message which is not the one I told you I’m getting: Common error messages
You may encounter one of these error messages.Could not establish connection. Please ensure your firewall is not blocking requests to theme.co
Could not retrieve extensions list. Please ensure your firewall is not blocking requests to theme.coPossible solutions
Here are some suggestions you can try to resolve this issue.
that’s not even the error message I told you I was getting. What to do about this error message.. Connection Lost. Saving has been disabled until you are reconnected. We’re backing up this post in your browser just in case.and this error message happens as well. The page you are looking for is no longer here, or never existed in the first place (bummer). You can try searching for what you are looking for using the form below. If that still doesn’t provide the results you are looking for, you can always start over from the home page.
I’ve been on the phone with godaddy for hours and hours running site lock protection and other things to try and fix this. How can I fix this so I can actually continue working on the websites using X Theme.?
February 2, 2016 at 1:27 pm #776571…and the internal server error happens when the pages don’t load after trying to reload after getting either of these error messages. Sorry for the confusion but it’s one thing after another.

February 2, 2016 at 11:21 pm #777289Hi There,
Please check the following thread:
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/error-message-connection-lost-saving-has-been-disabled-until-reconnected
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/ooi62htedvb?replies=15
It seems that other people with the same problem are hosted in Godaddy.Hope this helps.
February 3, 2016 at 3:14 am #777522That doesn’t help since both of those forum threads show no solution to the problem.
If you could ever so graciously show me something that actually fixes this problem I will be ever so thankful.
It’s coming from something that seems to have changed out of my scope of editing and site developing since I’ve had all these plugins running just great for about a year up until suddenly a week ago the problem occurred. Hmmmmmm. I’ve been on the phone with godaddy support for a few days in a row for hours at a time and showed them everything about the problem and the links supplied by Themeco support in the previous replies.
Could it just be that no one knows how to fix this problem??? Is it true that Themeco and Godaddy are stumped??
February 3, 2016 at 5:48 am #777736Hi there,
Sorry to hear that you are still facing this issue!
However, this looks more likely related to your hosting environment. You can check by switching the theme and seeing if the issue resolved. If it remains, you’ll know that its something related to your hosting setup. As such you will need to investigate this particular issue on your own or seek help from a developer.
Thank you!
February 3, 2016 at 12:04 pm #778416Ok I’ll give that a try to see if it persists.
ThanksFebruary 3, 2016 at 12:10 pm #778427I switched themes and it does not have the connection lost problem. So it must be something in X Theme.
February 3, 2016 at 12:34 pm #778482another thing godaddy said was that it showed that the entire amount of resource available jumps to being fully maxed out when the connection lost error shows up on the WP admin pages.
February 3, 2016 at 4:53 pm #778831What are the recommended PHP.ini file settings for this theme.?
February 3, 2016 at 7:34 pm #779036Hi there,
X theme and cornerstone doesn’t have any special requirement, but, a hosting would limit it to the point the software won’t work.
If it’s something related to hosting’s limitation, then we can’t do anything about it. But it’s true based on my personal experience in this forum, X/Cornerstone and Godaddy can’t get along sometimes. The fact that these issues happen between Godaddy (and other hosting similar to Godaddy), but not to other hostings, then this simply means they have something in between.
I ran some test before and looks like the limit is about 20 connections. I did some editing to apply changes, and each change is equivalent to one connection request. And when I reached the 20th, it throws internal error and connection lost error. This varies depending on current site’s traffic. Does that mean they specifically limit cornerstone but not the other? Or limit the whole site?
Even if you increase the limit through php.ini, but the connections being accepted are limited. Then it will be just the same.
Thanks.
