Cover your ears because by now I’m screaming and throwing things in my office.

    I have FOUR Themeco licenses.

I need to use one of them on a new site.
I no longer need to use the license on the old site.
I went to my licenses page and clicked the little X to delete a site from a license.
Then I typed in the new URL. Great. Now what?
How do I generate a new API key?
    where is that button?

There is no button or link anywhere that says
“Click this to GENERATE a new API key for a Site.”
…not on my Themeco Licenses page and not on the Site where I deleted the name.

    —————————————————–

I’ve been trying, trying, trying, and effing trying to change my license, purchase code, API to a new site.

    —————————————————–

WHY CAN’T THERE BE A “GENERATE NEW API KEY” BUTTON NEXT TO EACH LICENSE ON MY LICENSES PAGE?????????????

    —————————————————–

WHY IS THERE NOT A “GENERATE NEW API KEYS” PAGE?

    —————————————————–

WHY IS IT SO DAMN HARD TO FIND THE ANSWER ON SUCH A SIMPLE THING?

    —————————————————–

    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/i-have-changed-my-site-name-and-need-to-use-the-same-x-theme-license/
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/this-site-url-is-not-a-match-for-your-api-key-15/

I go to the previous site (which I just deleted from the Site URL License), and I copy that API key and paste it into the new site and it doesn’t work. On this previous site there is no button or link anywhere that says “Click this to REVOKE the existing API key for this Site.” …not on my Themeco Licenses page and not on the Site where I deleted the name.

There are lots of threads/tickets about generating a new key and revoking a license and how you can find all the info you need to revoke a license on this page:

    https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/

    No, no there isn’t.

This page is GREAT for people who just bought a new license but it’s an informationless, compounding time-wasting nightmare for anyone who already has a license, deleted the site URL from that license (Purchase Code), and then followed instructions and typed in a new Site URL.

Please go to that page and search for the word “Revoke.” The word “Revoke” is not even on the page that Themeco tells you to go to so you can learn how to revoke a license!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!

    The page says this:

    “Un-assigning a site
On occasion you may need to move a site to another URL. You can do this by un-assigning the site. Click the × next to a URL assignment. You will be asked to confirm. Remember this will make the site unvalidated, so it’s not advisable unless you are in the process of changing domains.”

Nice. I did that NOW HOW DO I GENERATE A NEW API KEY FOR THE NEW SITE URL??????

    —————————————————–

Then what? I’ve added the new Site URL and there’s no button or link anywhere to generate an API for that (or ANY site/license).

I go back to the new site (for which I’ve added the Site URL to my licenses and cannot find anyway to create the API key)

This Cornerstone license is not validated. Fix. <– Useless “Fix” link.

    http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxx.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=cornerstone-home

“Setup Now” button <–useless takes me to this page
    http://rudeyork.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=cornerstone-home
“Where do I enter my purchase code? Once you have a purchase code you can enter it in the input at the top of this page.”
THERE IS NO INPUT ON THIS PAGE!

    On this thread:

Paul R (Themeco) says, “You can revoke your old api key and generate a new one for your new domain. Please refer to the link below for more information https://community.theme.co//kb/product-validation/

No, no there is not any info there about HOW TO REVOKE A LICENSE.

    —————————————————–

This thread says I can use my Purchyase COde and no longer need an API Key:
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/how-to-generate-api-key/
That is just not true. I pasted the Purchase Code into the Submit API Key on my new site and I get the familiar old message:
“This site URL is not a match for your license key.”

    Useless. More time lost.

    —————————————————–

    This thread:
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/creating-api-keys-unauthorized-url-for-this-api-key/
    says:
“Revoke any previous instances of the X-theme license” HOW???? WHERE???
    and
“Generate a new API key…” HOW??? WHERE???
and then it says (on page two):
“In this case, please try to validate your domain’s IP…” and it shows an amazing image of aan actual, real for real API KEY and URL from a screenshot from some magical place! WHERE IS THAT MAGICAL PLACE THAT THE SCREEN SHOT CAME FROM WHERE I CAN SEE AN API KEY???

    —————————————————–

This thread seems to help one person:
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/cant-generate-new-api-key/
…but doesn’t tell any of us HOW.

    —————————————————–

    This thread:
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/problem-generating-api-key/
…is a joke like all of them that tells us all to go look at the famous Product Validation page:
    https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/
…which doesn’t tell anyone how to revoke an API Key or how and WHERE to generate a new API Key.

The poor person in that thread asked:

“my live website is using X and asking for an API key, but I can’t find the option to generate one under the licence section.
What should I do to validate the theme?”

No ANSWER! Just go look at that Product Validation page and good luck because there is nothing there.

    —————————————————–

    This thread:
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/domain-associated-with-new-api-key-put-in-wrong/
    …Alexander says:

“To clarify on what’s happening, your API key can only be associated with one site at a time. When you revoke it, you’re preventing that key from being used again. I’ve checked your account, and you still have a key on the beta site. You’ll need to revoke this, and generate a new one for the domain of the site where it is now. Then you’ll need to go into your dashboard and add this new API key into the product validator.”

HOW DO YOU REVOKE A KEY???
There is no REVOKE link or button anywhere on the sites or on the Licenses page.

HOW DO YOU GENERATE A NEW KEY???
There is no GENERATE API KEY link or button anywhere on the sites or on the Licenses page.

    —————————————————–

    This thread:
    https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/license-api-key-question/

Shows an AMAZING screenshot of some Themeco page somewhere that lists both the Theme License AND the API Key AND the URL!!!!!!!!

WOW! WHERE IS THAT MAGICAL PAGE?

    —————————————————–

PLEASE JUST ADD A REVOKE BUTTON AND A GENERATE BUTTON ANYWHERE SOMEWHERE AND ALL OF THIS NONSENSE GOES AWAY FOR ALL OF YOUR USERS!

    Hi

Sorry to hear you are experiencing so many difficulties upon checking so many topics.

The procedure to to revoke and assign a license goes like this:

    Hello There,

1] Please go to X Addons > Home and revoke the validation.
2] Please login to your account and revoke the license. https://community.theme.co/my-account/
3] After you have revoke the license, you need to re assign the license again to your site using this url: https://www.your-domain.com/. You have to make sure that url you just assign is the same as the one you have in your settings, Settings > General > Site Address
4] Go back to X Addons > Home again, and insert the license again.

So the main point where I believe you got lost during the process is that you don´t need to generate a API KEY anylonger.

You simply paste your Envato purchase code on your website and it will validate.

In case something is still not working, please provide us your WP-Admin Credentials and your Themeco credentials in a private reply so we can have a better look at the issue.

    Hope that helps,

    Joao

    Thank you.

There’s so many mentions (even above) of “revoking” without explaining HOW to do that.

One thing that will help everyone
is to go into the Product Validation interface and
change that damn “API Key” button
    to be “Envato purchase code”.

    Exhausted.

    Chris
