So I had a conflict occurring between the column fade animation and the Essential Grid plugin. But based on this thread (https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/essential-grid-and-fade-problem/) a user was able to determine that we should just use “Cobble” instead of “Even” in our grid settings.
That is great to know, and it does in fact fix the column fades again. But now all of my fades are animating in too quickly before the user has reached that part of the page. You can see them fading in in the very bottom section of the screen, instead of right in the middle.
You can see them in action here:

Thanks!
November 3, 2016 at 2:22 am #1242015Hello There,
Thanks for writing in! Could please add a fade animation in the column container the grid? This should make a difference when viewing the page. Please keep in mind that one a certain column is partially visible, the fade animation will automatically kick in when loading the page.
Please let us know how it goes.
November 3, 2016 at 7:41 am #1242276That didn’t really seem to help, unfortunately.
In the past, the fade animation has always triggered when the column hits the midway point on screen. Right now it’s triggering so low on the screen that it’s almost hard to catch (which the client isn’t going to like).
Please let me know if it would help if I provided a login. Thank you for your help, Rue Nel 🙂
November 3, 2016 at 12:48 pm #1242697Hi there,
Thanks for wriitng back. It should be triggered when the column is entirely within viewport and it’s still same as before. No changes was made for this on previous updates.
Cheers!
November 3, 2016 at 1:06 pm #1242709Right, I think we’re on the same page. What I’m saying is that the animations are currently being triggered well before the sections come into view on the page.
Is there a way I can prevent Essential Grid from triggering every animation below it so early?
November 3, 2016 at 7:55 pm #1243175Hello There,
Could you please edit and add some animation delay? or maybe adding a JS script will help. Please check out this documentation:
https://www.themepunch.com/essgrid-doc/custom-css-javascript/#custom-javascriptHope this helps.
November 5, 2016 at 6:14 pm #1245346Ok, so here’s an interesting twist-
The site will load the animation correctly the first time the user visits the page (which is great!) But then on subsequent visits (or at least until the cache clears again) the sections appear fixed because they load way below the fold.
I’m ok with this if it’s the best we can do, but I’d really love to get to the bottom of this bug so it doesn’t affect other sites adversely.
Thank you for everyone’s support 🙂
