Hi there!

URL and Credentials to follow.

Quick question:

When checking out – there’s a line at the bottom of the checkout page where you have to click a box, and next to that box it says: “I’ve read and accept the terms & conditions *”
Due to liability issues for the product we will be selling (Drones), in order to have liability insurance for our company, the insurance provider requires that we have an addition line of text right below that which says,
“By agreeing to FlightWave’s terms & conditions, I acknowledge that I am solely and entirely liable for any and all damages which may occur as a result of my operation of Flightwave products.”

Woo commerce told me we need to edit lines 17 and 18 of the template “checkout/terms.php.
Where do I find this and how can I edit it?

So I’m not sure if I did it correctly or not – but I seem to have the text showing up. Please let me know if this is the correct method:

I went into my hositng C-Panel, and navigated to:
public_html > dev > wp-content > plugins > woocommerce > templates > checkout > terms.php

I opened this file in the code editor, and added the text.

2 questions:

1. Is this the correct place to do the edit?
2. Will this get overwritten every time WC updates their plugin? If so – how will I know when that happens?
3. How can I place the checkbox directly to the left of the T&C acceptance statement (it is now on a line above the statement).

For the term text issue, please add this CSS on Appearance > Customize > Custom > Edit Global CSS:

label.checkbox {
    display: inline-block;
    margin-top: -27px !important;
    margin-bottom: 15px !important;
}

What you’re doing is correct with those files, please do give us FTP credentials too so we can check.

Hi there,

1. Please change that CSS to this

label.checkbox {
 padding: 0px 0px 20px 20px;
 float: none !important;
}

2. It shouldn’t have any effect on file structure, but please note that changing folder name is as good as switching theme. And WordPress reset menu and widgets when you switch theme.

Ok – that works. Now is there any way to put a little space between the box and the beginning of the text? As it is now – the text literally butts up against the box.

Ah, the padding is overridden by another CSS, let’s add !important too.

label.checkbox {
 padding: 0px 0px 20px 20px !important;
 float: none !important;
}

That should do it 🙂
