Hello,
I’m using Ethos and I don’t want the carousel on top of the webpage. Can I change the post carousel to a single static image?
regards,

Thanks for writing in!
You can disable it under Appearance > Customize > Ethos > POST CAROUSEL
http://screencast.com/t/RBOO1Xrc
Changing post carousel to a single static image could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. You may wish to consult a developer to assist you with this. X is quite extensible with child themes, so there are plenty of possibilities. Thanks for understanding. Take care!
June 21, 2016 at 3:08 am #1052108Hi,
Thank you for your answer.
I have the same kind of question for the post slider.
Here too I do not want my posts to slide, instead I would like to have always repeating (no-post)-images with text on top to pass by.
Is this also only possible with custom development and outside the scope of support?June 21, 2016 at 3:20 am #1052123Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.
June 21, 2016 at 4:00 am #1052182Hi,
Here are some examples.
example for the slider with fixed content. (images with text ‘Best Selling author).
http://demos.restored316designs.com/novelty/And another.
http://demos.lovelyconfetti.com/natalie/In both cases there is also no post carousel but a fixed image with the name (Novelty, Natalie).
This is what I was asking for in my first question.June 21, 2016 at 4:52 am #1052228Hey there,
You can disable Ethos Carousel and then setup a Slider Above the Masthead (see https://community.theme.co/kb/sliders/). Slider Revolution has a Static Layer feature (see https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/second-steps/#manageslides).
Please see https://www.themepunch.com/revslider-doc/slider-revolution-documentation/ for the rest of the Slider Revolution documentation.
Thanks.
June 21, 2016 at 5:37 am #1052280OK Thank you.
I will check that out.One more thing.
Why am I seeing things differently from the tutorials?
– I do not get to see a drop down from ‘Addons’.
– And under extentions I do not see Cornerstone on top of the extentions.
See attachments.regards,
June 21, 2016 at 7:03 am #1052369Hi there,
I’m sorry, the tutorial belongs to previous versions. We have changed X addons home page from x v4.4.0, see : https://theme.co/changelog/#theme-4-4-0
Hope it helps.
June 21, 2016 at 8:40 am #1052520Hello,
That explains it. Thank you.
While working I keep on bumping into new issues.1.
I chose for Ethos but can not edit the existing content with Cornerstone.
When I change to another standard Demo like Renew 10, I am able to change all elements, inspect it,… with cornerstone. Same goes for the Expanded Demo ‘Wedding’.
Can this be solved?2. Another issue is that after playing around with the themes I deleted the demo content in order to start over clean. Importing the same demo again did not import the deleted pages, posts, or images. So I added &clean-cache to my URL. http://example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=x-addons-home&x-clean-demo-content-cache
In doing this, you ran into a different problem.
Under pages, I can only see – title and nothing else. Can you help me out with this too?
thank you,
Wouter
June 21, 2016 at 10:41 am #1052709Hey Wouter,
1. Are you editing the Home page? If so, Ethos home page is not editable by Cornerstone since it is the post page and is controlled dynamically by a template file.
2. I imported Integrity 1 and it imported the home page. If you mean you imported Ethos 1, it doesn’t have a page as it is composed of posts or it is a blog page.
Thanks.
June 21, 2016 at 2:21 pm #1053054OK. That explains everything.
