Hello,
I revoked my license from my live site in order to update my local site to 4.4.1. But the local site validation page is requiring an API, not a purchase code. Even when I assign my license to my localhost from ‘manage license’ it doesnt work. Please advise.
ThxApril 4, 2016 at 1:27 am #865471Hi There,
Thanks for writing in! Older X theme, 4.3.4 and below, will ask for an api. I would recommend that you manually update the version of X in your locahost. You can download the latest version from Themeforest downloads section or download it right from your dashboard (https://community.theme.co/dashboard/). To know how to manually update the X theme and plugins, please check out our knowledge base: https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/
You must provide a domain name to be able to assign the license to. Since you are validating the localhost, you need to create a virtual hostname and use this fake hostname to assign the license. If you haven’t created a virtual hostname like mylocal.dev, please follow these links:

April 4, 2016 at 11:19 am #866167Thank you, I will give this a try.
Was the need to create a virtual hostname for localhosts explained anywhere when 4.3.4 was updated and api’s were replaced with product codes, and I just missed it? Or is this one of those things that more experienced developers “just know” to do?
thanks again
April 4, 2016 at 6:30 pm #866762Hi there,
You can still use a virtual host-name. Please refer to the following post if you need more information (https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/validation-using-ip/#post-350974).
Thanks!
April 6, 2016 at 8:38 pm #870368So after much difficulty I managed to create a virtual host name for my local site. I revoked my production site license, assigned the license to the local site (and it shows it successfully assigned in my themeco account) and entered the product code in the local site. Now I get a “Your code is valid but looks like it has already been used on another site. You can revoke and re-assign within your Themeco account.”
I revoked and reassigned several times. It seems X theme is not recognizing that I’ve assigned the license to the virtual host in my themeco account. Does this change take time to propagate or something? I assumed it would be instant.
April 7, 2016 at 2:31 am #870696Hi there,
What’s your virtual host’s domain name? It should be the one that you’re validating into 🙂
Would you mind providing a screenshot of your license page, and screenshot of your virtual host’s Admin > Settings > General page?
Thanks!

Thank you for the screenshot!
As the URL in your WordPress settings does not match the URL you are trying to validate, the API key won’t work. You will need to change the URL, however as you said, if you are not able to change it directly from the admin panel, you’ll need to follow the proper steps of changing the URL by WordPress: http://codex.wordpress.org/Moving_WordPress
Thank you!
