Today I am unable to modify a page on my site using the frontend/visual composer (VC) editor. Clicking the VC button causes the VC logo to alternate between visible and invisible over a white background.

In addition my version of X is not giving me the option to update to a later version than the 3.2.5 version it suggests I am using even though the product validation page says “Yay! Automatic updates are up and running”.

I really would like to avoid having to update manually to the latest 4.2.2 version which I am able to download.

    I am on wordpress 4.5.

    Can someone help please?

    Hello There,

Thanks for writing in! Because you are using an older version of the theme, you may need to update it manually. Be advised that X Shortcode has beed deprecated and replaced. Please deactivate and delete X Shortcodes plugin. Please take note that X shortcodes and its functionality has been consolidated into Cornerstone which you can install by going to X Addons > Extensions.

    Our latest versions are:
    X Theme: 4.4.2
    Cornerstone: 1.2.4
    Visual Composer: 4.11.2

You can find the latest version numbers here: (http://theme.co/changelog/) Then you can compare them to what’s installed on your site.

If you find anything to be out of date, you can review our update guide.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi there,

We have changed validation process, please see https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/. Our developers updated API that would make older versions of X appear validated, that’s why you could update via WP dashboard.

In regards with broken layout, what you’re seeing is a result of the X CSS path structure being changed back in version 4.3.3. You can fix this by using the updated child theme format that isn’t stack specific. Or you can update the path in style.css of your child theme. For more information on this process, take a look at the 4.3.3 release notes: http://theme.co/changelog/#theme-4-3-3

    Hope it helps.
