Hi there. Love the theme and thanks for the great support to date.
I’m using the calendar widget as demonstrated here: http://theme.co/x/demo/ethos/1/2014/05/
I have two questions that it’d be great if you could help me with;
1. Can we set the calendar to show just one category ie. art events?
2. Can we set the calendar to link to a post by modified date?
For instance: I publish a post about an art event on June 10th, the event itself is on june 17th and so I’d like the calendar to show the post-link on June 17th (i.e. june 10 +7 days).
> This might be best achieved using a custom field of ‘scheduled date’ and then rigging the calendar to list post by category ‘art events’ date by custom field.Thanks again and having lots of fun with Ethos!

Thank you for writing in!
For question number 1. It is possible by using 3rd party plugin like “Widget Logic” to control visibility of your widget for specific sidebar/page.
And about second question, you will have to use fully featured event plugin. The calendar from the demo is just using wordpress builtin widget.
Thank you.

I see I wasn’t so much interested in select where the calendar appears so much as which category of posts it might feature.
Thanks all the same,
best,

As we said to you, the calendar on the ethos demo, is just the basic wordpress calendar from the widgets.
If you want to show different events and categorized events, you might want to use a event plugin(what you are doing i guess), unfortunately, we won’t be able to help you with that as this is a 3rd party plugin and we don’t support those in this forum, i would recommend to contact the plugin author(s) or contract a freelancer from for example microlancer to get this job done.If you have any other question related to X theme, we will be happy to help you.
Cheers.

November 18, 2014 at 1:05 am #147287Hi Kailas E, I hope you don’t mind me jumping in on your post, but I was wondering if you have found a good Event Plug-In that work nicely with the X Theme since you posted this? Any recommendations would be much appreciated!
Thanks, Nic.
