Dustin MParticipantHello, I was curious if there was a recommended security plugin for this theme. I’ve tried BulletProof and the All in One plugin in the past. The latter ended up locking me out of a website even though it was nothing I did.
Here’s the main ones I’m finding. Thanks.
Solid Security – Password, Two Factor Authentication, and Brute Force Protection
Wordfence Security – Firewall, Malware Scan, and Login Security

RubinKeymasterHi There,
Overall I would only recommend using one plugin and that’s http://wordpress.org/plugins/limit-login-attempts/ for security. Wordfence is also not bad for checking your site but other than that there is really no need for more. Just make sure to always have the latest WordPress version and update frequently.

erik bParticipanthey dustin,
i am inclined to agree with support for the most part. most of those security plugins are going to add overhead running to your site that may not be needed. limit login attempts will prevent people from brute forcing your admin panel.
to add some additional security, if you are on a hosting account that supports htaccess, i would take a look at html5 boilerplate htaccess and configure it to your needs.
https://github.com/h5bp/html5-boilerplate/blob/master/.htaccess
also, to use htaccess like a firewall (what many of those plugins do) take a look at the blacklists for htaccess that are available on http://perishablepress.com/category/htaccess/
