The forum replies pagination stopped working so I deactivated BBPress and re-activated it and now I can’t save Settings -> Forums
When trying to save forum settings I get:

BBPress v 2.5.9June 5, 2016 at 4:50 am #1026445Hi there,
Thanks for writing in.
I’m not sure if I can help, but, would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
For the meantime, please try deleting the plugin and install it again.
Thanks!

Looks like a bug. Would you mind downgrading your bbPress to lower version?
I got the same problem when I upgraded my bbPress, but instead, I got nothing from the settings menu. It’s displaying that message if a plugin fails to register its menu. Maybe it’s still displaying on your menu due to cache, but it’s not there anymore.
Forum settings is submitting to options.php where it’s not allowed, it should be sent to something like options-general.php?page=bbpress. You can confirm that by checking other settings page just after saving, and you’ll notice how the URL on the address bar changes.
Please try installing older version from here https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress/developers/
Thanks!
June 5, 2016 at 9:14 pm #1027252I installed v 2.5.5, 2.5.6, 2.5.7, 2.5.8, 2.5.9
Cleared cache each time.
I verified what you mentioned that the forums settings page resolves to /wp-admin/options-general.php?page=bbpress
I can see the forums settings page in all versions and when I attempt to save changes the same error. Points to /wp-admin/options.php
Thoughts?

It may work but may come back. You should contact your hosting provider about it to make sure everything has the correct permission.
Web service might have different permission than FTP service. Hence, installing from WP Admin could have different permission/ownership than files installed through FTP. They have to make sure that both services has same permission and ownership.
Thanks!
