    Hello there, I have added a background video (using a youtube link) to my website with an image over it. The video plays fine on all of my computers and a few others that I have checked, but will not play on my clients computer. He only sees the still image or poster image with no video. Since I can’t replicate the issue he is having, I was hoping I would gain some insight from you and hopefully a way to fix the issue?

    Thanks for writing in!

    Youtube video doesn’t work properly as a background video, that is why we recommend using direct video link of e.g. MP4 format. Please watch our video walkthrough on sliders for more detail.

    Thank you so much for the quick response. I’ve updated the video background to what you have suggested above, but its not working at all now. I’ve added the.mp4 video link to the slider and it only displays the image not the video.

    The client has a touchscreen computer, could this be contributing to the issue?

    Hi again,

    Yes that could be an issue, since all touch devices are treated as mobile devices and Background Video doesn’t play on mobile devices. Can you please let us know the OS and system info of your client?

    Can you try to test the page in other browser? Also, can you describe how the slider behave on your client’s PC? Please note that since touch devices are treated as mobile devices and Background Video doesn’t play on mobile devices as videos are disabled in mobile devices because of performance issues.
