My background images will not show up. I have selected all types of layouts including “Boxed” and I have also made sure the hex code is clear on the background color. I have tried setting the background image in the customizer as well as in the page directly. I set the Ms fade to 0 as recommended by another X theme user. No background images will show up since the update to the new X. Please help!
May 1, 2014 at 1:24 am #39244Hey Kyle,
Please ensure you have updated X Shortcodes, Visual Composer and Revolution Slider also.
Thanks.
May 2, 2014 at 10:39 am #39787I have the same problem. I’m trying to use multiple background images defined in the Page Settings for a page. I have about 8 images entered.
Inspecting the page with Chrome, I can see that there is a jQuery.backstretch script that appears to be running and successfully setting the background image. The problem seems to be that the content area of the page has a layer overlaying the background image with a white fill color at 100% opacity. I’m not sure if there’s more than one layer on top of the background image(s), but that’s what appears to be interfering with the proper display of the background images.
May 2, 2014 at 10:40 am #39788BTW – I have just updated the theme, X-shortcodes, visual composer, and revolution slider to the latest versions as of May 2, 2014.
May 2, 2014 at 10:47 am #39793Adding this CSS to the page (small, upper-right, </CSS> button on the upper right of the Visual Composer pane), seems to have fixed the display and now I can see the rotating background images I entered in the Page Settings pane.
Here’s the CSS:
.site { background-color: transparent !important; }
May 2, 2014 at 6:49 pm #39969Hi Patrick,
Glad you made it working! You could also place that at customizer’s custom css, or at your child theme’s style.css.
Thank you.
May 13, 2014 at 5:43 am #43866Thank’s Patrick, I spend half a day figuring how to fix this.
May 13, 2014 at 10:11 pm #44153Hi guys/gals,
Is there anything here that we can help you further? What about Kyle? Did the fix offered by our fellow Patrick M solved your problem?
Glad it worked for you Chirila V. 😉
Thanks!
June 14, 2014 at 6:38 pm #56353Hi,
Thank you for the great product! After 6+++ hours of searching forums, knowledge-base, google…and my eyes bugg’n out… I am STUMPED!I have tried the recommendations from the above posts…I cannot get my background image to show in the global or page settings under any format. I am using the Renew stack.
Also, when I place a gallery of 5-images into the content area, it always offsets to the left. It will not center and the padding (space between the pics) is way off. I have not had this happen on other WP themes.
Tired of researching…I hope you can help AND I really appreciate it! Thank you 🙂
June 15, 2014 at 10:38 pm #56655Hey Deborah,
Please give us WordPress admin access so we could see your back-end setup. But before that, please ensure you’ve updated X and the plugins to their most current version and temporarily disable third party plugins.
Thanks.
September 18, 2015 at 10:41 am #395059I am having the same issue. I even had a little previous issues with just some images placed in the placeholders that were on the page. I changed one out and the new one would not show. It finally showed after me renaming the new one to the one that was previously in it’s place.
I added the .site {
background-color: transparent !important;
}
to the custom css and it has not changed a thing. I cannot get my image to show up on the background where I want it to show and I set it to parallax scrolling and that part is working fine.Thank you

Thanks for writing in! Regretfully, at this time I am not entirely certain what it is you would like to accomplish based on the information given in your post. If you wouldn’t mind providing us with a little more clarification on what it is you’re wanting to do (a link to a similar example site would be very helpful, or perhaps some screenshots), we’ll be happy to provide you with a response once we have a better understanding of the situation.

Thanks for providing the screenshots. Upon checking, your Cornerstone doesn’t save any of your changes. Could you please try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
If possible, please try to re install X and Cornerstone plugin. There might be files that were corrupted.
Please let us know how it goes.
