    Hi there,

    I am having problems with the background image on a site I am building. On a previous version of X theme the background image appeared fine. Recently updated and I noticed that it is no longer appearing. Have since upgraded again to version 2.3.0 and it still does not appear. Have tried re-uploading the background image but still not not.

    All plugins and wordpress are also up to date.

    Please can you advise.

    Hey James,

    On Inspecting your website i have found an error, which is the reason your background image is not appearing. This is what it says:

    TypeError: jQuery.backstretch is not a function
...espoke.jamesletherby-test.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/08/Bespoke-Website-Backg...

    Please ensure that all of your plugins are updated. To check which plugin is conflicting with the theme, please deactivate all the plugins and check the background image again. If it works then start activating your plugins one by by until you find a problematic plugin.

    Hi there,

    no luck with the plugins unfortunately. I deactivated all plugins but still no image. I then reactivated the essential plugins needed for the theme but still no luck.

    I also tried removing all my custom css with the plugins deactivated and that also did not work.

    There are no plugin updates listed either.

    Could you advise at to the next step?

    Hi James,

    Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

    – Link to your site
    – WordPress Admin username / password
    – FTP credentials

    Don’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

    Hi James,

    you need to update X shortcode to version 2.3.5 as you’re still using 2.0.7, you can follow the update guide from here -> http://theme.co/x/member/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/

    Hi James,

    Your WordPress is out of date, please update it to latest first.

    And few plugins also out of date, update them also.

    Then update X theme & X shortcodes by following this KB article: http://theme.co/x/member/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/

    Excellent all working now. Did not realise that the x-shortcodes plugin was out of date as it was rather old so did not say automatic update.
