On the homepage at http://www.tripodClamps.com I have a series of rows, each divided into 3 columns and within each column there is a text element sitting above an image element. When I set up the site in X, I somehow managed to get different color backgrounds behind each png and the color was only behind the image and not the text. I now have added another row, but I can’t remember, nor figure out again, how I got the colors as backgrounds to the images which are png’s with transparency. I feel stupid that I forgot how I did it. Can you help me figure out how to do this again? WordPress 4.4 X Theme 4.2.2
Thank youDecember 9, 2015 at 9:48 pm #700367Hi there,
Thanks for writing in! You can simply select the Column and set the background color as follows (http://screencast.com/t/hvqpksMsbNO).
Hope that helps.
December 10, 2015 at 10:58 am #701233Unfortunately, that does not work. Let me be more specific about how the column is set up. In each row there are 3 columns. Into each column I drag a text element first, then I drag an image element into the same column and it sits beneath the text element (see attached image). What I had somehow done previously was put the colored background to appear ONLY behind the image and not the text. When I try your suggestion, the color appears behind both the text and the image. I cannot remember how I did that before, but I can’t seem to do it again.
December 10, 2015 at 6:30 pm #701738December 10, 2015 at 10:13 pm #702021Thank you and while that makes perfect sense to do it that way, when I click on the image in Cornerstone, the panel on left only scrolls as far as the Info Placement arrows and the what you showed me scrolled below that to reveal the style field in which to enter the css. Why is there nothing below the Info Placement arrows in my version?
December 10, 2015 at 11:15 pm #702100Hi There,
Oh I see you’re on a lower version of Cornerstone. You see that switch icon on the panel? The one that is between the home and mobile icon? Click that one and turn on the Adv. Control option. On the latest Cornerstone that option is already turn on.
We recommend that you update to the latest version of Cornerstone. To avoid Compatibility issue.
Hope it helps, Cheers!
December 11, 2015 at 7:36 am #702670Thank you, I knew it was going to be something simple. Now that I can see the style field, I see that’s how I did the original colors, but I forgot about checking the status of that control. But, my plugins page shows Cornerstone at version 1.0.5 and I am not getting any update message, even after clicking check again on the plugin updates page. Why am I not seeing an update message if there is a newer version?
December 11, 2015 at 12:23 pm #703021Hi there,
To get the automatic updates, kindly validate your theme installation first.
Please follow this guide on how to validate the API key: https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/
Hope this helps.
December 11, 2015 at 12:50 pm #703065My theme is and has been validated, so your answer doesn’t help me. Given that it is validated, Why am I not seeing an update message if there is a newer version of Cornerstone since that what you said I needed to do? (“We recommend that you update to the latest version of Cornerstone.”)
December 11, 2015 at 5:21 pm #703427Hi There,
Is your site is part of a multisite setup? can you first ensure that the primary site is running X, and the API key has been setup with that domain. Then you can click “Check again” on the WordPress updates page to force it to check for updates.
If that is not the case, please provide us login credentials in private reply, so we can take a closer look.
Thanks!

Please generate a new api key using trxpxdclxmps.xxx as your domain. You can use the new api to revalidate your product. For more details about product validation and api key generation, please check out our Knowledge Base here: https://community.theme.co/kb/product-validation/
Please let us know how it goes.
December 12, 2015 at 8:09 am #703958I had already done that as I mentioned in my last note. But I proceeded to follow your instructions using trxpxdclxmps.xxx as you wrote – although I thought that was strange, and it did not validate. So I did again and I then entered tripodclamps.com and got the new API key, entered it and it validated.
But please answer this. Back in a much earlier note in this thread I was told that my version of Cornerstone was old and I should update it, I replied I was using version 1.0.5 but I was told to try validating again and click check for updates in the plugin update section. I did, but no new Cornerstone update appeared as an update. So What is the current version number for Cornerstone? Maybe the problem is I really am using the current version of Cornerstone? Thanks.
December 12, 2015 at 5:24 pm #704305Hi there,
The latest cornerstone version should be 1.0.11, but since you just upgraded your wordpress 4.4, then it’s probably related here,
https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/34976
It’s wordpress bug, in this case, you can manually delete your cornerstone through FTP, at
/wp-content/plugins/
, then install it back at Admin > Addons > Extensions.Hope this helps.
December 12, 2015 at 9:21 pm #704474Thank you. Your suggestion updated Cornerstone to 1.0.10 not 1.0.11 . I hope WordPress gets updated soon to fix this issue. I think that should close this thread as you had the reason for Cornerstone not being shown as having an update, and how to do a manual fix until WordPress gets a minor update to fix the problem.
I appreciate the help.
