I have a staging server setup to test things before going live. In order to auto-update I revoked my live domain for the staging server. I have v4.3.4 of X theme installed on both servers. When I generated the new key it doesn’t work in my install. I’m guessing because of the removal of the stand-alone Themeco API key, 4.3.4 doesn’t recognize the envato key and I’ll need to update manually now? I get the error:
No license code or API key provided
when pasting in my Envato key in 4.3.4.March 31, 2016 at 11:22 pm #861949Hi there,
Thanks for writing in. If you go to your account page on Themeco, you will see the notice :
Looking for API keys? We’ve removed these in favor of just using the purchase code directly. For new site validations, you can use your purchase code directly. Sites previously validated with an API key, will remain validated, but moving forward API keys will no longer be used.
So let’s try validating with the purchase key directly.
Cheers!
April 1, 2016 at 9:29 am #862609I ended up doing a manual update. Using the purchase key wasn’t working. I guess this issue will be solved in the near future with the ability to have a dev/staging server validated 😉
I have another related issue though. I wasn’t able to get my current install on my live site to validate. I have solved this. I needed to revoke the key and re-generate using http://domain.com vs just domain.com.
