I’m building my website off-line, but need to keep the Theme fully updates as I go.
I see there is a new version available, but I can’t download it as I have yet to generate my API Key.

This is because I will be moving the website to a different on-line server when complete.

So, how can I register my API Key during the off-line build, and then move it to the final on-line server?

    This is rather important.

    Hi there,

You can generate a API key for your local setup and validate it to get the updates. Also when you’re done with your local changes, you can revoke the API and generate a new one to your live site.

You can check product validation related more information here (https://theme.co/x/member/kb/product-validation/)

    Hope that helps.

SO I’m now trying to license the ‘localhost’ development website – but I can’t get an AIP Key to work!

From what I can see the URL is: http://localhost:78/wordpress/wp-admin/admin.php?page=x-addons-product-validation

So I assume http://localhost:78 is the valid bit of info?

But, the API Key generation says URL=78

    And the Key does nothing.

    Please help :o(

    Hi Skippy
I had a similar issue. Rather than put ‘http://localhost:78’ in as the URL, put the IP address of the localhost e.g. ‘192.168.1.23’. I did this and it worked fine.
This also has to be the same URL used in WordPress Admin>General.
The :78 part of the URL you are trying to input is the post number and that’s not required.
    Hope that helps

Nope – now I get “Unauthorized URL for this API key.”

    This really is a pain!

So I changed the setting in ” WordPress Admin>General” to “http://192.168.0.7:78/wordpress”
(Which is the IP address of my machine) and still nothing…

I just get “No product(s) specified”… when I try to validate!

    Dear Support & Skippy,

I have the exact same issue, am developing a web offline and need to enter a URL to keep Addons etc updated.
I tried entering my IP address, as Colin suggested above, and I still just got “Unauthorized URL for this API key.”

    Please advise, thanks.

    Hi there,

Please try to enter your URL without ‘www’ or ‘http://’.

Let us know how it goes.

If I skip the Http:// the URL that gets used is 78!!!!

    Seriously, this is really bad!

    Hi Skippy,

As it explain in https://theme.co/x/member/kb/product-validation/ you need to enter your address like this adress:http://localhost/x3 without www or http://, this is my localhost and i validated it by entering my URL like this:localhost/x3 and it has been validated successfully.

Please try it and let us know how it goes.

    Thank you.

That is what I tried originally – it didn’t work as the URL became the port number (78) as I reported above!

    ;o(

    This really isn’t working!

I have tried everything I can think of – nothing works…

This really is getting very, very annoying!

I know I’m not a genius at WordPress, but it really should not be this hard!
