kstimpParticipantI recently tried to update my Theme to the most recent version via the WordPress backend.
When updating the theme, it errored out, and I received the following: An error occurred while updating X: Could not remove the old theme.
Now my website shows the attached error message AND I can’t login to backend.
Please help!

ChristopherModeratorHi there,
Are you using child theme?
If so please try to rename x-child to x-child-old and check if it solves the issue. With provided account I wasn’t able to rename the file.
Please remove .htaccess file from themes directory.
If it doesn’t help try to update theme manually, to do so follow this link : https://community.theme.co/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/
Let us know how it goes.

kstimpParticipantYes, I’m using the child theme…as I’m supposed to.
What info do you need to that (rename the child theme)? I’d rather you do it for me so I don’t mess anything up further.
Thanks,
Kevin
