May 27, 2016 at 11:40 am #1013164Hey There,
At this point of time I can’t seem to understand what you are exactly trying to get help with. Would you mind elaborating it further please?
Thanks
June 8, 2016 at 3:03 pm #1032577Hi is there an update on this. I am also getting this error and am unable to use essential grid on my new website. I do not have the time to do as you have already advised by downloading the SQL and changing all the wp_
Also i have purchased the essential grid plugin in the hope that it would also work, but when i install my purchased essential grid it just installs the bundled x theme essential grid.
I have validated the website and have all plugins (woocommerce and yoast) up to date.
The website is on my computer so i can not give you my FTP details.

Please start a new thread regarding this and link it back here. Then please provide your login credentials especially the PHPMyadmin and I’ll check what I can do. There are many possible reasons, and we can only find it out by directly checking it.
@fernando96, in your case, ajax requests returns 404 (Not Found). Which means something is blocking it. Please contact your hosting provider to gather information and have it whitelisted. Ajax requests are not a page so it shouldn’t return 404 unless forced.
Thanks!
June 9, 2016 at 1:32 pm #1034445I had one working copy of essential grid which i had been using on my development (dev) site, but when i installed essential grid on my live site it stopped functioning properly. There were no navigation skins or item skins showing and even when i tried to create a grid I kept getting an ajax error when i saved.
Backup your database or databases first. (i nearly didn’t in my push to get it sorted)
So as kind of suggested (as i wouldn’t have had any idea as of what to do with the dropbox file) i exported the essential grid sql tables (of which there are four, eg_grid, eg_item_elements, eg_item_skins and eg_navigation_skins) from my dev site database and imported them into my live site database.
I then deleted the current essential grid sql tables from my live site database and used the ‘Replace Table Prefix’ to rename the dev site sql tables prefix to the live site table prefix ie wp_1234 to wp_4321.
This has worked, and was pretty much a quick process. Whether it remains to work without fault is another thing, but for now it looks like i can proceed. I can now save an Ess Grid without getting the Ajax error, and it wasn’t my host or xampp.
This is far from ideal. If Themeco went through the hassle of making it possible to validate two websites one for dev and one for live, then they should have made sure that all the bundled plugins work as expected too. This has taken up almost a day of development, what with trying to find answers and then implementing them. The SQL changes was a leap of faith and involved additional research and some nail biting seconds during the process. Anyway i am a little bit wiser on SQL then before which is a good thing.
June 9, 2016 at 8:18 pm #1034993Hi there,
That’s exactly as explained and the same as the provided dropbox link for SQL file, replace prefixes and then import it in PHPMyAdmin.
Bundled plugins work, but please note that installation is done by WordPress. We provide the plugin then WordPress install it including extraction, file transfer, and table creations. If it fails then even a working plugin will, of course, fails. We have no direct control over it. In fact, X theme and its plugin don’t have direct access to the database, it’s WordPress that do that.
This happened on my end too, but just once. I can’t when WordPress would fail, but, we’re to help and provide some workaround.
Even if bundled plugins are faulty, we can’t fix them. All we could do is forward the issue and wait for the fix.
Thanks!
June 16, 2016 at 1:50 am #1044670? So what is the issue and the fix for us all? thanks?
June 16, 2016 at 2:22 am #1044706Hi There,
The issue here is there are times that installing Essential Grid, the tables was created successfully but it’s empty resulting to errors or no skin options. We have forwarded this to our developer for further investigation. If you have the same issue, please refer to this thread:https://community.theme.co/forums/topic/essential-grid-has-no-skin-options/page/2/#post-1009883
Hope this helps.
July 15, 2016 at 8:36 am #1088485I am having a similar issue here. Not able to create a new Grid, no skins found. Getting AJAX error all the time. Can you suggest what I can do.
Harshad
July 15, 2016 at 7:20 pm #1089216Hello Harshad,
Thanks for updating this thread! You could try testing for a plugin conflict. You can do this by deactivating all third party plugins, and seeing if the problem remains. If it’s fixed, you’ll know a plugin caused the problem, and you can narrow down which one by reactivating them one at a time.
And lastly I would suggest that you re deactivate, delete and re install again essential grid plugin. If nothing else works, would you mind providing us the url of your site with login credentials so we can take a closer look and fix the issue? This is to ensure that we can provide you with a tailored answer to your situation. Once you have provided us with your URL, we will be happy to assist you with everything.
To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP Hostname
– FTP Username
– FTP PasswordDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.
Thank you.
September 7, 2016 at 3:43 am #1164122I read this, as I want to use another Theme X license with essential grid. And I wondered; could it be of any influence to activate Essential grid first, so prior to Cornerstone or any other plugin?
September 7, 2016 at 8:15 am #1164422No, there would be no influence.
Thanks.
