    Hi all,

I love the X theme but am having some issues trying to create a brand new homepage with a sidebar. I don’t want it to look like the rest of the child pages which have the left content, right sidebar look. Basically, I need to have the following:

    Content
    1. [content_band] about 70% of the whole page.
    2. No title of page displayed by default
    3. No breadcrumbs.

    Sidebar (right)
    1. About 25-30% of the width of the page.
    2. Unique content (which I know how to do using the Sidebar tool).

Do I need to create a separate layout template in addition to what’s there? Or do I use an existing template and modify with custom CSS?

    Please help!

    Thanks,
    JN

    Hi there,

    Thanks for posting in.

Does this apply to all pages or specific page? And is this different from the standard sidebar-content layout?

CSS should be enough unless this is specific to certain pages while the rest has full-content. It might require custom PHP coding, but shouldn’t be that hard.

Please provide a sample page where you wish to implement it, and confirm my previous questions 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I just want to change the homepage of the site to be different to ALL the other pages on the site (which are working fine). I want a side bar on the new homepage, but I want to be able to tweak the elements, etc.. e.g. removing the breadcrumb, the title of the page, etc.

    Hi there,

In that case, use the Blank – Container | Header, Footer or Blank – No Container | Header, Footer instead of Fullwidth template. Then add columns to your home page through cornerstone, example, 4/5 + 1/5 column size. Then add Widget Area element, that should serve as your sidebar.

Blank template should remove titles and breadcrumbs, and you can add your own through custom headline element.

    Hope this helps.
