Local Host
wordpress 4.1
shortcode 3.03
Theme 3.2.1I activated plugins. I then activated xtheme. WordPress lost all formatting, with wordpress links displayed without images with xtheme install text overlayed on top of the links.
I renamed x in the themes directory to x.temp, logged on, and wordpress looks right again
I appreciate you help.
February 6, 2015 at 8:12 am #200477Hi Mike,
Thanks for writing in and sorry that you are experiencing issues. since you are on a localhost (assuming localhost on a local server) we won’t be able to troubleshoot your site directly. Would you mind providing us with more info like screenshots or even a screencast if possible?
Also should you list down what plugins you mentioned you activated before activating the theme. If you are talking about the X bundled plugins, I’m not sure how you would have installed them prior to installing and activating the theme?
These plugins are installed and activated within the theme’s X Addons menu.
In the meantime, have you tried reinstalling and activating the theme first before installing and adding plugins? Though I imagine it shouldn’t make much of a difference unless one fo the plugins was a caching plugin in which is recommended to be switched off and cleared when developing.
provide us with a little bit more info and we’ll see what we can advise. Hope this helps – thanks!
February 6, 2015 at 1:50 pm #200661How do I send you the screen shots?
I deleted the X bundled plugins, activated the xtheme and got same result. As soon as I activate the theme it blows.
Where are the instructions to implement the Xtheme. I viewed the video on your knowledgebase and did not see I was to use X addons to install plugins. I wonder what else I missed.
Thanks
February 6, 2015 at 2:06 pm #200679So.. When I install xtheme by uploading x.zip from Themes menu, I do not get the screen shown in the implementation video. I get text only in a white page. Same as when I activated the theme.
Thanks
February 6, 2015 at 7:42 pm #200868I just tried uploading a non-themeco theme and had same results. So it doesn’t look like your problem.
I’ll pursue it with wordpress.
February 6, 2015 at 7:52 pm #200870Not so fast.
While the non themeco theme had same white screen with text as when I tried to install Xtheme, once I signed onto WordPress everything looked OK.
I put together a PPT I’d like to send to you to get your guidance. Can I send you an email?
Thanks
