Hi X,

I’d like to add a photo to my Author ids. I’ve attempted to use two external plug-ins but they just don’t make the cut. Is there a simple way to add an author ID that I am missing? It doesn’t have to be anything fancy just something to replace the gravatar.

Hello There,

WordPress has a default avatar which you can choose to have for your users. By default it will display blank and that is why in your site it is not displaying anything. Please go to WordPress dashboard Settings > Discussions, and select which one you like as a default setting for you site. Please see screenshot to have a clear idea of where and how does it looks like in your dashboard.

Thank you for your response. I’m aware of this Settings > Discussions page however I am wondering how I can make a photo appear rather than a Gravatar Logo, Identicon, Wavatar, etc.

I think I would be able to add a photo in the Users section but there’s only an area for a bio, social media links and whatnot.

Is it not possible to add a photo at this time?

Hi there,

First activate the default logo as mentioned above. Then you can head over to Gravatar site (https://en.gravatar.com/) and use the same email as you have in your site’s user email to upload your own avatar. Then your site will pull your custom avatar based on your email.
