Hi,
I’m hoping you can help me please!
I’m working on two websites which are running fine except when viewed on mobile (on iOS, haven’t been able to check others). They both keep returning the error: A problem occurred with this web page so it was reloaded. It happens when I scroll through the content, or when they are sitting dormant.
http://www.britanniahotelsherborne.co.uk/
http://thehandpickedvintageco.com/I upgraded WordPress to 4.2 and WooCommerce (on the second website) to 2.3.8 because of this error, but it continues.
Please help!
Thank you,
MattApril 26, 2015 at 10:19 am #258916Hi There,
Thanks for writing in.
Upon checking your sites, it’s working fine just on my end but a bit slow, maybe the big size of the images.
Please try to turn off all 3rd party plugins & resize your images.
Hope it helps.April 26, 2015 at 10:25 am #258918Hi,
Thanks for your reply. It seems fine here now since updating everything—not sure what happened there but thanks anyway!
But whilst updating in the Britannia site, I’m having an issue updating the Revolution Slider from 4.6.5 to 4.6.9. I click update in the Plug-ins page and it gives the message ‘Updated!’ but it isn’t. Any ideas?
Thanks,
MattApril 26, 2015 at 11:06 am #258934Actually, on further investigation the Britannia website is still crashing and reloading on mobile, but the Vintage Co isn’t.
So it must be the Revolution Slider that’s causing the problem because the working Vintage Co has 4.6.9, but the crashing Britannia has 4.6.5 and I can’t update it.
Do you have the 4.6.9 Revolution Slider zip available so I can manually install it?
Many thanks,
MattApril 26, 2015 at 11:06 am #258935Hi There,
Please try to update this plugin manually: https://theme.co/x/member/kb/updating-your-theme-and-plugins/.
You can find the latest version of Revolution Slider in x/framework/plugins/revslider.zip.
Hope it helps.April 26, 2015 at 12:23 pm #258972Hi,
Okay thanks, done that, but it was still crashing. I deactivated all third-party plug-ins but the problem persisted.
I’ve worked out though, that the crash was occurring on the slide transitions in the Revolution Slider. So I changed them from ‘Slide Boxes’ to something else, and though they don’t work entirely properly on mobile iOS, at least they don’t crash it. The images are oversized at 2500px so maybe that was contributing to it with that particular transition.
Seems stable again now.
Ta,
