Hello, I’m an X-fan. Finally talked the company I work for to implement WordPress and of course, I made them buy X.
Anyway, everything’s going swimmingly but I have a small issue that I know you’ll have the answer for. On our home page, we have a 5 column layout. There’s not a predefined 5 colum icon to choose, so I selected Custom and used this for my value:
1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5I does divide up the columns in the Visual Editor, but instead of them being proportionantly placed across the row, the 5 columns stack on top of each other. (This is on the backend) SO visually, it looks like this:
This is using a custom 1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5 + 1/5
But any other layout, like the 1/4 column layout formats it like this:
Obviously, I can live with this strange format in the backend of things….but I honestly think its the cause or is causing a deeper problem. Because when I do a 1/5 custom layout it’s no longer responsive on the frontend. So if my 5 images I put in those columns are too big to fit across the browser on a small laptop/device, then it drops down a row and throws off the whole page. It’s got to be responsive or it just won’t work. But if I switch to a 1/4 columns or a 1/3 or even a 1/6, they all look right in the backend and they are responsive on the frontend.
Thanks in advance for your help with this!
Keep rocking guys. X is bad-to-the-bone and has been a great boost of all creative minds in the WordPress community. Well done.

March 4, 2015 at 12:06 am #219824Hey Jamie,
5 column layout is not supported in Visual Composer. Please use our Column X Shorcode (see http://theme.co/x/demo/integrity/1/shortcodes/columns/) inside a Text Element.
Thanks.

I wish I would have posted my question 3 weeks ago. I struggled with it and kind of shrugged it off and went a different route. But all I had to do was ask my question. Couple hours later support provided me with a new approach using my original workflow, but just in a different way. Same results. Different path.
As a result of the help, I made a problem that was effecting about 15% of our customers…the iPad community…finally go away! Now I’m not getting emails everyday with “%*@!^” as a greeting, because the owner of a restaurant chain couldn’t order a set of tongs from his iPad.
Who would have thought it, Theme.co helped make your dinner tonight.
