Hi,
I am having a problem with Cornerstone and can’t figure out what the issue is.
Here is how to recreate the problem.
1> Create a new page
2> Give it a title
3> Publish page
4> Select Cornerstone to edit the pageThen it gives me a 404 error.
It seems to be calling a page “*/?cornerstone=1”. This gives a 404 Error.
What am I doing wrong?
Please help.

Are you using a CDN and or other third party services? If you’re using CloudFlare, please see this article https://support.cloudflare.com/hc/en-us/articles/200168306-Is-there-a-tutorial-for-Page-Rules. In your Page Rules, add http://yourdomain.com/*?cornerstone=1
Thanks.
July 4, 2015 at 10:13 pm #321127No, there is no CDN.
any ideas why this would be happening?
July 5, 2015 at 1:43 am #321219Hey there,
Upon testing your page again, Cornerstone works.
However, I made another test. I’ve created a new page and viewed it without even using Cornerstone and the page is not found.
We can conclude that this is not an issue with Cornerstone but rather your WordPress setup or an issue with your web host. Please contact your web host or a WordPress developer to investigate the issue.
Thanks.
July 5, 2015 at 11:45 am #321507Thanks for the help.
I AM unfortunately both the webhost AND the developer/designer.
No CDN, very simple hosting.
I suppose, maybe I will try to create a fresh new install in another directory and see if this resolves.
Perhaps the install did not complete properly.
Thanks for your help.

July 9, 2015 at 7:47 pm #326182Just to close the loop and hopefully help someone else that may experience the same problem.
I did end up creating a new directory on the same domain, and installed a fresh version of WordPress and the X Theme.
The new install does not have the same problems.
I can only conclude that there must have been something that went wrong during the install in the other directory.
I presume that deleting the install and reinstalling would solve this problem as well.
Hope this helps.

This instances happen when there’s a connection timeout when your installing the plugin. Some files might got corrupted.Glad that this is ok now.
February 5, 2016 at 10:42 am #781810I have the same problem. I’ve created some pages, but get a 404 when I try to view them or edit them with Cornerstone. I also have no CDN and very standard hosting. I guess I could try this whole reinstall thing, but do you perhaps have any other advice?

You can try re-installation too. Do you have any directory or URL restriction? Or do your PHP is properly configured with error documents?
Like from here https://www.addedbytes.com/articles/for-beginners/error-documents-for-beginners/
Thanks.
February 7, 2016 at 2:00 pm #784399Thanks for the feedback. Somehow it started working by itself even though it definitely wasn’t working before.
