Armand TParticipantHi guys,
Every time I update/publish a post it automatically adds the custom field: slide_template with the value: default.
I removed the Revolution Slider Plugin and it no longer added the custom field – i had to then go and delete them manually. So, after much tinkering I deleted and re-installed revolution slider and i’m still having the same problem, any ideas?
Warm Regards.

ChristianModeratorHey Armand,
Thanks for writing in. Please see http://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/59902/force-hide-custom-field-metaboxes on how to fix that problem. Also, see http://codegarage.com/blog/2009/05/how-to-hide-certain-custom-fields-from-the-edit-post-page/
Hope that helps. 🙂

Armand TParticipantThat unfortunately doesn’t really help me, I need to display a few custom fields on my posts page (just under each post’s featured image) and it’s showing ‘slide_template: default’ – I have to use the Delete Custom Fields Plugin everytime I edit a post… That’s a hassle.
Does the Revolution Slider need to have that custom field, I don’t get it?
Any help would be much appreciated.

RubinKeymasterHey Armand,
this is just a static value that is not affecting your site so you should not care about it. Revolution Slider adds it by default but it won’t change any settings. We will look into this and maybe find a solution to prevent the plugin from doing that but as I said its a more cosmetic thing.

ChristianModeratorHey Armand,
Please delete <?php the_meta(); ?> because that outputs the custom fields.
Hope that helps. 🙂
