Hello. I have installed bbPress on my website, that is the version supplied with X Theme, after having initially installed the publicly available version, realised my mistake and uninstalled it. Now I cannot see ‘forums’ in the WP dashboard, and if I try to deactivate bbPress, I can’t. Can you please help? The site is http://newgestaltvoices.org and all versions are up to date.
February 19, 2017 at 10:56 am #1377172Hi there,
So you have installed it and can’t see “forum” and can’t uninstall the plugin either? Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:
– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentialsDon’t forget to select Set as private reply. This ensures your information is only visible to our staff.

Please try deleting your existing bBPress plugin through FTP. Its current version is 2.6.9 Aplha. The stable version is 2.5 https://wordpress.org/plugins/bbpress/changelog/. Our recommended version is 2.5.8. Plus, the main issue is due to folder permission, I can’t delete it even in admin. You have to do it in FTP.
I could do these but your FTP login credentials are pointing to empty folder.
Thanks!
February 20, 2017 at 6:44 am #1378080Hi. Many thanks for your reply. I’m afraid I’ve no idea what FTP is all about! However, I have contacted hosting company and they’ve given me what should be the correct details to give you so I will post those now marked private.

Yes, that is correct.
I did login to your FTP and went to this folder:/public_html/wp-content/plugins
. See attached screenshot.
I did delete this current bbpress folder. Then renamed bbpress-old to bbpress. Now on Admin > Plugins: Version 2.5.8 is the active bbress. But then, you can see on the screenshot there’s this error:
Warning: ksort() expects parameter 1 to be array, object given in /home/johng418/public_html/wp-content/plugins/bbpress/includes/core/template-functions.php on line 316
Unfortunately, it turns out that WP4.7 and BBpress 2.5.8 have issue. So I installed Version 2.5.12 and delete 2.5.8.
The error is gone now and you have the latest version. Your forum page is here:http://newgestaltvoices.org/forums/
Hope this helps.
