Hello,

When viewing any regular page or post, you get 2 options on the WordPress toolbar to edit:
1.- Edit Page
2.- Edit with CornerStone

I used to see the same 2 options when editing a WooCommerce product, but now I only see the first one.

I already checked the CornerStone settings and everything is enabled (post, page, product, x-portfolio).

I’m not sure if it has something to do with the latest version of WordPress, WooCommerce, X or CornerStone. I have the latest version of everything.

Hopefully you have any advice on how to fix this, just need to add some content to the products.

Hmm, I’m not able to check and confirm it from here. Would you mind providing us with login credentials so we can take a closer look? To do this, you can make a post with the following info:

– Link to your site
– WordPress Admin username / password
– FTP credentials

Good to know I’m not the only one with the issue.

I apologize, but the site is not accessible outside our network. I can assure you it’s a clean install with no extra plugins. We’re using a test server where we have a bunch of websites using the same theme with no issues (they haven’t been updated).

This is the only one that has a problem with WooCommerce.

I should add that unlike all the other posts I’m reading, this one doesn’t have any problem with Cornerstone on regular pages or posts. I can modify everything without issues.

Just curious, you’re not able to check and confirm from there because you don’t have WordPress installed? or you have it installed, but don’t see the issue?

Hello There,

By default, “Edit in Cornerstone” is only allowed in posts and pages. You can change this setting and add the product post type by going to Settings > Cornerstone > Allowed Post Types

Moreover, you can see the “Edit in Cornerstone” in the WordPress toolbar if and only if you have created the post, page or product in Cornerstone.

On any WooCommerce product you should get 2 buttons in the WordPress toolbar
1.- Edit PRODUCT* (my bad on the first post)
2.- Edit with CornerStone

I had an old copy of CornerStone available (1.0.4), and that one seems to work as intended. Both buttons appear correctly.

This is working with the latest versions of WordPress, X Theme and WooCommerce. The only issue is with the latest version of Cornerstone.

I’m sure there’s a lot of bug fixes in the newer Cornerstone releases, so I do want to update, but at the moment I need to also be able to modify the “Cornerstone part” of the WooCommerce products.

Please let us know if there’s a fix for this without having to use an outdated version.

I just noticed that the previous CornerStone version messes up a lot of stuff on the regular pages, so this will not even be a temporary solution.

I’m still stuck with not being able to “Edit with CornerStone” a WooCommerce product.

I forgot to mention that if you access the product on the back-end, you get the CornerStone tab, you click on it and it takes you to the front-end editor, but there’s nothing to edit.

You can’t see the default:
“WELCOME TO CORNERSTONE
Get started by adding sections to the Layout pane in the sidebar”

Hello There,

On Woocommerce Products, the only editable in Cornerstone is Product Description. We have to enable Product Description tab first. You may add simple content on Visual and Text tab to enable it then save the page. Then open it in Cornerstone. Please check this video screencast:http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/colonihwYi

Hello,

I was aware that was the only editable area using CornerStone, I just couldn’t get that area to appear.

Your screencast does the trick. After adding some dummy content in the backend, the “Edit with CornerStone” button appears correctly on the WordPress toolbar.

Just as feedback, I would suggest making this automatic (if possible).

I appreciate you took the time to really look into this and even made the screencap.

I replied to a very similar post but this one looks more like where i should be posting.

I personally think the problem is that woocommerse made a different “page” interface for their “products”. Now, if woocommerse simply added functionality to the normal “pages” and allowed you to assign the page as a “product” or “page” then we could use any builder in our “pages” and have kick ass looking product pages. But now we are all “locked” into woocommerse “product” pages to make products. Which personally i dont like. I can produce a much better product page (or one that looks exactly like the woocommerse standard layout anyway). Two columns, one is a picture box or slider and underneath is tabs!

Now, i strongly believe that instead of Cornerstone trying to hack into woocommerse “product” pages, wouldn’t it be wiser to somehow add the product totals, add to cart buttons on the normal pages? This can kind of be done already with the woocommerse [add_to_cart] shortcodes but what you get is oldskool looking add to cart buttons that you need to restyle and totals that are out of alignment.

So correctly me if Im wrong but wouldn’t it be 100% more easier to somehow drag n drop “product totals” and “add to cart” buttons and dont forget a nice “product” option section system directly in “pages”?

To be honest, if cornerstone added functionality to woocommerse product pages i will never use it. But yes, you will still need to use the product pages to set prices, but the actual look of a standard woocommerse page can easily be replicated with cornerstones awesome builder in pages. So, Cornerstone took a leap to revolutionize the way we build pages so why not now make the next revolution in helping us use normal pages and hook into woocommerse parameters. After all, the only thing i think you will need to send to the woocommerse plugin in a total of what the product costs (after adding any options).

If im way off track let me know, and i will try to find another eCommerce plugin that lets me use normal pages for products but i dont think there is any..

Hi there,

That’s a good suggestion, that should be a cornerstone addons. Though for now, the cornerstone is only limited to its basic elements. Any additional elements should be an addon. Maybe we’ll do or maybe other authors 🙂
